Nik Nak’s Daily Teaser — 4-7-2022: Independence Day

4th July, 2022.

Right … it’s Tuesday-Eve.

Monday, in other words.

In other words?   The day before Tuesday.

The day I’m due another repair to my washing machine.

Hopefully?

I’ll end up with something workable.

Just as a thought … ?

The UK’s Army is generally considered one of the best on the planet.

How do we know, though?   I have no idea.

Frankly?

It’s not — thankfully — like they’ve been in a war, recently.

The Army HAS managed to embarrass itself, on line.

Yes: it’s had its Twitter and YouTube accounts, hacked!

Dearie, dearie me …

Nik Nak’s Daily Teaser — 3rd July, 2022.

3rd July, 2022.

It’s officially official: I’ve had a late night.

Reviewing a recently watched episode of Star Trek Picard.

I think it was worth the effort, though: the Borg Queen, played by Annie Wersching, is in unnervingly Hannibal Lecter mode.

Oh … I had my washing machine, on Friday.

It worked … once.

Well, twice!   But … ?

It’s now dead, again!

I’ve got the engineer coming on Tuesday: the last day of warranty cover.

Quite what happens, after that?   If that repair doesn’t take?

I don’t know!

Star Trek Picard — Series 2 Episode 2 — Penance — A Review

1st July, 2022.

Yes: it’s Friday, again.

And frankly?

Dinner is cooking.

The ever-so-traditional fish and chips.

On a day where I’ve had my washing machine fixed.

You can always read more about that in today’s Daily Teaser, if you’re interested!

At any rate, it’s a Friday night: which means it’s time for the now traditional TV show.

If you haven’t read last week’s blog post?

I’m started watching Star Trek Picard, series two: tonight will see me watching episode two.

And, as with the past few weeks?

I’ll have my written and video reviews up, by tomorrow night.

I’ll see you then.

Nik Nak’s Daily Teaser — 2nd July, 2022.

2nd July, 2022.

OK … have I used too many versions of the word, ‘official,’ there?

At any rate … ?

The washing machine is now fixed: at no charge, as it was still — just! — under warranty.

What went wrong?

Apparently, there’d been a power surge, somewhere along the line.

A power surge that interfered with the control board*: so all he had to do was reprogram it.

Through a panel at the back of the machine!

It took him about half an hour, from start to finish.

I’m thankful: both the it was quick, and didn’t cost me anything.

Quite what I’d’ve done if it had been out of warranty?

And had to pay?

I don’t know.

Nik Nak’s Daily Teaser — 1-7-2022: The Month of July.

1st July, 2022.

Right … it’s Friday: you’ve possibly noticed.

That means I’m due to be visited by Hotpoint: the company that made my washing machine.

I’m told he’ll be here between 8:39 and 11:39: but have an all day window.

I hope he’s here soon: I’d like to get some fresh air!

Did I mention I’m watching — but not reviewing — the Sky Max version of John Wyndham’s The Midwich Cuckoos?

I’m watching the Sky Max version of John Wyndham’s The Midwich Cuckoos.

The story’s been updated: as you’d expect.   The main character, Gordon Zellaby, is now Susannah Zellaby, and played by Keeley Hawes.

Three episodes in?

It’s looking rather good.
