Class: Series 1 — Episode 5 - Brave-ish Heart

16th November, 2016

It’s official … it’s a Wednesday.

One I’ve had off …

And spent time writing, ironing, with one friend …

Oh …

And catching up with a TV show …

Yes: before you ask …

I sat myself down with the most recent episode of Class.

OK …

The fight scene dragged …

Episode 3 of ClassBrave-ish Heart — follows directly on from last week’s episode, and sees April and Ram — Sophie Hopkins and Fady Elsayed — deeply in the realm of the Shadowkin.

With April looking to fight Corakinus to the death, to prevent any Shadowkin invasion of Earth.

Back on Earth?

Back on Earth, Ms Ames — Pooky Quesnel — has persuaded Ms Quill — Katherine Kelly — that getting Charlie to use the Cabinet of Souls: although the two disagree over whether the Cabinet’s target should be the Shadow Kin or the Petals slowly devouring the inhabitants of Shoreditch.

Frankly?

It’s getting grim …

Now …

Was this episode up to the standard I was expecting?

Overall, yes, it was.

Purely from a personal viewpoint, I felt that the fight scene — between April and Corakinus — had more dialogue than it could’ve done: and should maybe have focused more on the action, rather than the talk.

Counterbalancing that?

Is the simple fact that the scene between Charlie, Quill, Ms Ames and Matteusz is deep …

And shows us the depths of Katherine Kelly’s abilities.   Between her and the writers, Ms Quill is turning into not JUST a source of pithy one liners — although the character is certainly that — but ALSO the freedom fighter, terrorist and fanatic Ms Quill is.

Overall … ?

Overall, yes: this episode has its week points.

But it has strengths, to.

Go and enjoy it, folks.
