Hang on, hang on …
We’ve got what … ?
I’ve got the Today programme on.
And just heard the news.
Parliament … ?
Has just appointed Camelia Parker … as the 2017 election artist.
Apparently, one of her best known works was Cold Dark Matter: basically, a garden shed she’d blown up, then hung around a light source.
What ever tickles your fancy, I guess.
But I’ve got one question.
Who cam up with the idea of an election artist?

Oh, have I mentioned Dr Who, yet?
I saw this week’s episode, Thin Ice, last night.
And was seriously impressed with that.
I’m thinking Peter Capaldi, at his best in the show?
Does his good acting work with his face: The Husbands of River Song tells us that, with River Song’s big ‘Fall in love with a sunset’ speech.
I don’t know if it’s Capaldi’s best episode …
But, in allowing him to show us that side of the Doctor?
It’s certainly a candidate.

Let’s move on, shall we?
Yesterday’s Teaser saw Debbi* putting in her answers: scoring five out of five in the process, and telling me something about The Hoover Dam I didn’t know.
Let’s see how everyone does with today’s questions, shall we?
Q1) 1st May is, of course, May Day. In which James Bond film does Grace Jones play May Day?
Q2) May Day is a distress call. In which episode of Hancock’s Half Hour does Tony get a May Day?
Q3) May Day is a distress call for what: radio, telephone or internet?
Q4) Mayday is a small ghost town: in which US state?
Q5) Finally … ? In which year did BBC1 air the series, Mayday?
Here’s yesterday’s questions and answers …
Q1) The Boulder Dam was renamed as the Hoover Dam: on 30th April, 1947. The Dam’s in which US state?A1) Nevada.
Q2) The Diary of A Young Girl was first published in English: on 30th April, 1952. It’s better known as whose diary?A2) Anne Frank’s Diary.
Q3) The Vietnam War ended: when the government of South Vietnam surrendered to North Vietnam. The South Vietnamese government was based in which city?
Q4) In a speech on 30th April, President Nixon took responsibility for the Watergate Scandal. He resigned a few months later: on the 9th August. In which year?A4) 1973.
Q5) Finally … 30th April, 1945, saw the death of Adolf Hitler and his wife, Eva Braun: at the Fürherbunker. Deaths, and bunker, where in which German city?A5) Berlin.
I’ll leave you with a thought …
“Isn’t it appropriate that the month of the tax begins with April Fool’s Day and ends with cries of ‘May Day!’?”Author, Unknown.
And a song …
And a reminder that today’s questions will be answered in tomorrow’s Teaser.
Have a good day.
* Well they do say the sound quality’s better, Debbi: although I was never convinced. But there I am, managing to clear space of records: getting all those albums onto a hard drive, saving a lot of shelf space for books … and then someone re-releases the lot on vinyl. Oy vey!

Yeah, that's what they say.
I loved that speech about the luxury of outrage! It's like the luxury of ... regret or anger or any other useless feeling.

Oh, yes. The Hoover Dam is in two states. Rick and I were at the Dam and walked from state to state when we visited Las Vegas.
