Nik Nak’s Daily Teaser — 28-5-2017

Hmmm …

Have you been watching the news?

Then you’d possibly realise that the NHS isn’t the only one to have cyber-problems.

Oh, no.

British Airways has had problems.

That was apparently caused … ?

By a power supply issue.

Either someone’s pulled a pug they should’ve have.

Or someone forgot to put 50p in the meter …

Ahem … !

~≈Â≈~

But let’s move on, shall we?

Yesterday’s Teaser saw Olga* putting in her answers: scoring five out if five in the process.

Let’s see how everyone does with today’s questions, shall we?

“I write exactly as I speak, so therefore I would not say any writer influenced me at all.”
Mæve Binchy, 28 May 1939 – 30 July 2012.
And a tune …

Today’s questions get answered in tomorrow’s Teaser …

Have a nice day.

*        I’m saying nothing about Roger Moore’s looks, Olga‡, he was never my type … :D   Britt Ekland†, on the other hand … !   Which reminds me, I keep thinking I should read the original Charteris Saint stories, they’re supposed to be VERY different!

†        Actually, Olga, did you see The Wicker Man?   She had a body double for that: and was dubbed!

‡        Talking of Moore?   You DO know he and Sean Connery owe the late Patrick McGoohan a huge favour?   When Eon were originally casting Dr No, they offered the part of Bond to McGoohan.   He turned it down: didn’t like the whole guns and girls thing.   They gave it to an obscure Scottish male model.    Years later, when Connery finally left?   Eon were recasting the part for Live and Let Die.    McGoohan turned them down … again.   Moore got the gig …

Q3) Sir Francis Chichester
Q4) Glasgow
Q5) Ethiopia (A very complicated history)
Yes, I heard and saw the news about British Airways. Total chaos and it seems the worst bit of it was that staff didn't know anything and were not kept up-to-date so they could do nothing (and even denied information that was true as they hadn't been informed). Nightmare.
The Wicker Man years back, although they show it often enough. Wasn't there a new version recently? (I wish they'd stop doing that, unless the original is terrible, and then, why bother?)
Good idea about the Saint novels. I bet they were very different.
Beware of plugs and power switches.
