Nik Nak’s Daily Teaser — 16-8-2017: Strike A Pose

I have to admit, I’m back to work, today.

I’m looking forward to it, frankly.

But … ?

I’m also very aware that I stayed in, last night: watching a movie.

Ghost in the Shell, so you know.

Hmmm …

It’s got to be said, it’s a great looking thing.

I’m not convinced it’s a good film, though.

It’s  a bit of a mess, frankly.

~≈‰≈~

Let’s move on, shall we?

Yesterday’s Teaser saw Olga*, my mother†, and Debbi‡ putting in their answers: with Olga and Debbi scoring five out of five, and Mum scoring four.

Let’s see how everyone does with today’s themed questions, shall we?

Here they are, along with the How To, License and video …

Q1) 16th August saw the birth of popstar, Madonna.   In which year?
Q2) She attended Dance college in Michigan: but dropped out in 1978.   Dropped out … and moved to which US city?
Q3) 1982 saw the release of her first US single.   What was that single: Everybody, Holiday or Lucky Star?
Q4) What was Madonna’s first US number 1?   (In the main US chart.)
Q5) Her first UK hit was in 1983: reaching number two.   What was it?
Q6) Which Madonna song had a video condemned by the Vatican?
Q7) Die Another Day was Madonna’s one Bond theme song.   Who played Bond in Die Another Day?
Q8) Madonna worked with singer, Justin Timberlake and rapper, Timbaland.   On which single?
Q9) 2015 saw Madonna working with whom: on the single, Bitch, I’m Madonna?
Q10) Finally … Madonna is the USA’s second biggest selling female artist, by RIAA certificates.   Who’s the biggest selling?
Here’s yesterday’s questions and answers …

Q1) 15th August is VJ Day.   It marks the Allied victory in Japan: at the end of which war?
A1) World War 2.
Q2) 15th August is Independence Day: in India.   It marks the day India became independent from Britain: in which year?
A2) 1947.
Q3) The Virgin Atlantic Challenger capsized: on 15th August, 1985.   The ship was owned by which millionaire?
Q4) An IRA bomb went off: on 15th August, 1998.   In which Northern Irish town?
A4) Omagh.
Q5) Finally … ?   15th August, 2005, saw settlers protest at being evicted from where: the Gaza Strip, the Golan Heights or the Sinai Peninsular?
A5) The Gaza Strip.
Here’s a thought …
“Better to live one year as a tiger, than a hundred as sheep.”
Madonna.
And some music …

Today’s questions will be answered in tomorrow’s Teaser.

Have a good day.

*        I’m just thankful I didn’t get interrupted, last night, Olga.   Although it might have improved the film.   As for the plague?   I know many Jews were blamed, and killed: both in Toulon, and Barcelona. At the other end of the scale?   You’ve got this stuff: here … (Putting a rooster on trial, even if it DID lay an egg, just seems odd …)

†        I’ll try and Message the link to this, over, Mum: is that OK … ?   (Oh, you might find the Chromecast handy: it’s got a lot of catchup services, and is relatively cheap.)

‡        It’s a fantastic little film, actually, Debbi: Helena Bonham Carter is berserk … !   You know, I’ve not actually seen the thing?   Stephen Mangan struck me as mildly wrong: but each to their own!   Oh, hang on … there’s ANOTHER one … !?   With Brad Dourif’s daughter!   Blimey!   (Third series of Twin Peaks, surely … ?)

Yes, indeed the Jews have been blamed for everything from the beginning of times it seems.
I'm trying to finish revising the audiobook version of one of my books and don't seem to find time for much else. I won't bother with that movie, then...
