Good lord …
It’s true …
It’s been six months since Grenfell Tower went up in smoke: the Memorial is being held today
That fire saw the deaths of seventy-one people: with the survivors still (mostly) un-rehomed, and traumatised.
Personally?
I can remember seeing Grenfell go up, on the news: and being deeply shocked by it.
After all, there were people in there.
Right now?
I can only hope the service being held help those survivors find some closure.
I suspect it won’t.
I suspect nothing will.
Bar — possibly — an enquiry result that really helps find out what happened.
And the survivors being re-homed in their area: soon‡.

Let’s move on, shall we?
Yesterday’s Teaser saw Olga* and Debbi† putting in their answers: with both scoring five out of five.
Let’s see how they — and you — do with today’s questions, shall we?
Here they are, along with the How To, License and video …
Q1) The first human spaceship to fly past Venus did so on 14th December of which year?
Q2) Which ship was it: the Mariner 1, 2 or 3?
Q3) Venus is which: the second, third or fourth planet from the sun?
Q4) Venus’s orbit around the sun is roughly how many Earth days long: 224, 234 or 244?
Q5) Finally … what’s longer, Venus’s year or Venus’s day?
Q1) Richard Wayne ‘Dick’ van Dyke was born on 13th December: of which year?
A1) 1925.
Q2) He played Bert the chimney sweep, opposite Julie Andrews as the lead: in which 1964 film?
A2) Mary Poppins.
Q3) What was the name of Dick’s character in The Dick van Dyke Show?
A3) Rob Petrie.
Q4) Dick played Caractacus Pott: in which Ian Fleming film?
A4) Chitty Chitty Bang Bang.
Q5) Finally … Dick plays Dr Mark Sloan in which TV series?
A5) Diagnosis: Murder.
Here’s a thought …
“The universe is hilarious! Like, Venus is 900 degrees. I could tell you it melts lead. But that’s not as fun as saying, ‘You can cook a pizza on the windowsill in nine seconds.’ And next time my fans eat pizza, they’re thinking of Venus!”
Neil DeGrasse Tyson.
And a tune …
* I know exactly where you’re coming from, Olga! I’m just glad it rained, overnight, it meant a LOT of ice got melted. (I’m still grateful I didn’t have to go to work, yesterday: it meant getting cards written, not going out in the rain … and I could get my cards written. My hand aches: I’m going to have to learn Arabic, it’s one of the few written languages that’s the right way around for a southpaw!)
† Ironically, it’s not a bad little film, Debbi. Apart from Russell’s accent: dratted thing went from Wellington, New Zealand, through Manchester, Liverpool, Cornwall, dipped into East London, wandered through South London … and never actually landed in Nottingham, where the character’s supposed to be from. (Gillian Anderson’s English accent is better: mind you, she grew up in London!)
‡ I think the rehoming is going to be a problem. I think it’s going to take a while: because the Royal Borough of Kensington and Chelsea, like other councils, doesn’t have enough social housing.

I can imagine with the prices in Chelsea and Kensington social housing will not be a priority, for sure, but let's hope they can come up with a reasonable solution.
Hebrew might be another option, although neither of them looks very easy (my friend Iman gave me one or two lessons in Arabic but I didn't get very far at all).
Wrap up warm!
Didn't know that about Gillian Anderson! Interesting.
Ida Lupino also grew up in England. Probably loads of people have. :)
