Nik Nak’s Daily Teaser — 5th December 2017

Hmmm …

I mentioned, yesterday, that Nadine Dorries, MP, was rather lax with her computer’s login.

Quite what will happen with that, I don’t know.

The rules that cover parliamentary staff — the people who work in the libraries, bars and corridors of power — don’t cover MPs: who work in, not for, Parliament.

So, problem there, then … !

Unless, of course, you’re the UK’s data protection regulator, the Information Commissioner’s Office.

Reminding us, and our MPs, that — whilst sharing login passwords with friends, families, co-workers and who-ever else — doesn’t violate any data protection law, there’s one basic tenet of data protection that’s important.

Someone who has sensitive information on their system — personal, commercial or medical — has to take at least basic security steps.

Keeping things updated helps, being careful opening email attachments from people/groups your don’t know …

Oh …

And not handy your password to others …

Let’s move on, shall we?

Yesterday’s Teaser saw Debbi* putting in her answers: scoring five out of five in the process.

Let’s see how everyone does with today’s questions, shall we?

Here they are, along with the How To, License and video …

Q5) 5th December, 1936, saw the USSR introduce its constitution.   It’s ALSO known as the what constitution?
Here’s yesterday’s questions and answers …

Q1) The first branch of Burger King opened in Miami: on 4th December, 1954.   It’s signature burger is the … ?

Q4) The Observer was first published on 4th December, 1791.   Which US paper was first published on 4th December, 1881?
Q5) Finally … the Unity module was launched on 4th December, 1998.   The module is part of what?
Here’s a thought …
“A lot of songs I sang to crowds to get their reaction. That’s how I knew they’d hit.”
Little Richard, born December 5, 1932.
And one of the songs Reverend Penniman was talking about …

Today’s questions will be answered in tomorrow’s Teaser.

Have a good day … !

*        I think there’s a hero’s story tucked in all good stories, Debbi, but that’s possibly just us!   I have to admit, with series two, there’s a vague hint of Buffy: The Vampire Slayer: both shows are set in small American towns, both of which can access small seriously nasty parallel dimensions.   Although Hobbits is possible a good parallel.   I’m just wondering if that makes Winona Ryder† Legolas, or Gimli?

†        Series one, I kept thinking she was doing her best Woody Allen routine, Debbi: with 101 variations on “What, are you crazy????¿??”   (Oh, talking of hobbits?   Sean Astin crops up in series two …)

Sorry, I only turn up rarely these days. I hope things will settle once I'm in Barcelona (perhaps). Wrap up warm. It's supposed to get colder soon (fingers crossed they don't close the airports).
