Nik Nak’s Daily Teaser — 18th December, 2017

Right … that’s the day off done with.

And Aunty Bella visited.

Bless, she’s not getting any younger: but she still has her mind.

And sense of humour.

The one sad part of the day?

Was that we couldn’t persuade her to spend Christmas at ours.

I’d hopefully, we can persuade cousin Julie and her husband to bring her over at some point.

Let’s move on, shall we?

Yesterday’s Teaser saw Olga* and Debbi† putting in their answers: with both scoring five out of five.

Let’s see how everyone does with today’s questions, shall we?

Here they are, along with the How To, License and video …

Q1) 18th December is UN Arabic Language Day.   How many letters has the Arabic alphabet got?
Q2) Two Australian truckers had their appeal for heroin smuggling rejected: on 18th December, 1985.   In which country?
Q3) 18th December is the feast day of St Flannán.   The saint was from where: England, Scotland, Ireland or Wales?
Q4) 18th December, 1964, saw the birth of actor, Brad Pitt.   Who was he married to, until 2016?
Q5) Finally … 18th December, 1939, saw the birth of writer, Michael Moorcock.   Moorcock novel, The Coming of the Terraphiles, was a spin off of which TV show?
Here’s yesterday’s questions and answers …

Q1) Actor, Bernard Hill, was born on 17th December, 1944.   In which series — series — did he play Yosser Hughes?
A1) The Boys from The Black Stuff.   (The title of this question is taken from Yosser’s catchphrase, ‘Gis A Job.’   It’s ALSO supposed to be one of THE bits of British TV drama: up there with I, Claudius and the original House of Cards.)
Q2) The characters in that series laid what?
A2) Tarmac.
Q3) Hill famously appeared in The Lord of the Rings: as whom?
Q4) Which Beatle did Hill play, in A Journey in the Life?
A4) John Lennon.
Q5) Finally … Bernard Hill is one of only a few actors to have been in three films to have won a Best Picture Oscar.   Name any one of them …
Here’s a thought …
“I’ve always paid attention to religion … because I grew up in a religious background, but I’ve never felt a part of any of them. I think there’s something to be drawn from most of them — other than goat sacrificing.”
Brad Pitt, born 18th December, 1964.
And a song …

Today’s questions will be answered in tomorrow’s Teaser.

Have a nice day!

*        I have to admit, it went well, Olga: although I’m a little concern about my aunty.   What CAN one do?   Apart form get very persuasive!

†        I have … ?   Blimey, Debbi, I’ll have to keep an eye peeled for that: when I get back from work!

Q4) Angelina Jolie
Q5) Doctor Who
Not easy. I guess if there is anybody she listens to more than others it might be worth a try. Although as you say, she might be persuaded if somebody comes to fetch her on the day...
