Nik Nak’s Daily Teaser — 30th December, 2017

Hmmm …

OK …

This year’s New Year’s Honours list has been published.   And seeing various people — from actors to former politicians to research scientists — getting various shades of gong.

All good: the fact a lot of people who do volunteer work with various local charities, and a lot of otherwise obscure research scientists.

There’s a lot of public servants — like nurses and teachers — getting various shades of gong.

It’s not just celebrities, politicians and civil servants who’ve impressed their political bosses.

However …

I think we can say it’s short of a certain something.

I, personally, might have missed it …

But I couldn’t see anyone who’d been nominated for services to blogging on the complete list.

You can nominate your favourite blogger, at the UK government’s nomination page: over here
*.

And if that’s not a big hint for any of the regulars, I don’t know what is!

*        It’d be nice to get one: Nik Nak’s Old Peculiar is ten, this year … !   (The first post was in September, 2008.   Technically, this blog’s a Virgo …)

†        You know, I’m going to have to add a few more Bruce Dern films to the list I keep of the ones I want to watch, Olga.   (I’m sure Debbi’s also recommended him.)   Which I’ll probably have to start on in the New Year: I got a blu-ray of Shada I’d like to catch first … !

‡        You should’ve seen the BBC’s Dr Who account announcement about the timing, Debbi.   It’ll be in the fall … the Fall … ?   OK … (Oh, so you know, St. Thomas’ is about five minutes away from Brentwood Library, although the roads are a bit twisty.)

I wish I could have seen some of the barristers in action while in London.

I used to belong to an organization here called Inns of Court. Its focus is professional development. A great group. Always reminds me of Rumpole of the Bailey! :)
