Nik Nak’s Daily Teaser — 21-4-21: The Death of a Prince.

21st April, 2018.

Yep: it’s officially official.

I’ve managed to scrape together enough cash to my myself …

A haircut … !

I don’t know about you, but I feel a bit better for it.

I’m a bit less … you know … shaggy …

~≈§≈~

Just as an extra point: from the news section … ?

It seems the government’s scheme to roll out local TV stations — the nearest to me is London Live* — isn’t going well.

At least … the UK’s communication watchdog, ofcom, has decided to stop any further rollout.

On financial grounds.

Personally?

I think that’s sensible.

I’d guessed there’d not be a market for them.

~≈§≈~

Let’s move on?

Yesterday’s Teaser saw Debbi† putting in her answers: scoring five out of five in the process.   The day also saw Olga‡ looking in to say ‘Hello‘!

Let’s see how everyone does with today’s questions, shall we?

Here they are, along with the How To, License and video …

Q1) Prince died on 21st April, 2016: at his home in Paisley Park.   The Park’s in which US state?
Q2) Prince was born in which year of the 1950s?
Q3) In which US city?
Q4) Prince died of an accidental overdoes of a drug called … what?
Q5) What name is on Prince’s birth certificate?
Q6) Prince released his first album in 1978.   What was it called?
Q7) I Feel for You^, from Prince’s second album, Prince was released as a single by Chaka Khan.   That cover was in which year of the 1980s?
Q8) Lisa Coleman, Dr Fink, Bobby Z, Brown Mark and Dez Dickerson formed Prince’s first backing band.   What were they called: Time, The Revolution or the New Power Generation?
Q9) What’s the only Prince album to win an Oscar?
Q10) Prince song, Darling Nikki, inspired Tipper Gore to start the Parents Music Resource Centre.   Which sticker is the Centre’s most famous product?
Q11) Prince is one of a few musicians to NOT let parodies of their songs be released by Weird Al … who?
Q12) Finally … Prince’s Hit and Run, Pt 1 tour opened in February, 2014: in the Electric Ballroom.   The Ballroom’s in which part of London?
Here’s yesterday’s questions and answers …

Q1) 20th April is UN Chinese Language Day.   How many character sets does Chinese have: one or two?
A1) Two.
Q2) Name one of those two sets.   (Just ONE of those two sets.)
A2) Traditional Chinese, that existed before 194, or Simplified: introduced by China’s modern Communist government from the early 1950s.
Q3) Chinese can also be written in pinyin.   In other words, in what?
A3) The Roman/Latin alphabet: the one commonly used in Western European languages.
Q4) Kanji are Chinese letters used in which language?
A4) Japanese.
Q5) Finally … ?   Chinese letters are made up of anything up to how many strokes: eight, nine or ten?
A5) Eight.
Here’s a thought …
“It’s a hurtful place, the world, in and of itself. We don’t need to add to it. And we’re in a place now where we all need one another, and it’s going to get rougher.”
Prince.
And three Prince songs …

And three well known Prince covers …

Today’s questions will be answered in tomorrow’s Teaser.

Have a good day.

*        I’ve never actually watched it.   From what I can see, there’s nothing on it that grabs me.

†        Oh, yes: he was the best thing in Easy Rider, Debbiª!   You know, I’m going to have to dig up One Flew Over the Cuckoo’s Nest: it’s one of the films.

‡        I know what you mean, Olgaª, I have those days, too!   If we can avoid tripping over stunt roadworks, we should be fine.

^        A performance by Chaka, herself, harmonica by Stevie Wonder, rapped introduction by Melle Mel, written by Prince, with a video that featured the dancers who went on to perform in the film Breakin’: and I swear that’s Flash on the turntables.   It’s a bit of a superstar thing.   The fact Chaka’s in the choir, here?   Has nothing to do with it.

ª        Sorry about the amount of questions: but, as it was Prince … ?
