Yes … I’ve got a night off … !
OK …
I haven’t, really …
I’ve just got another free evening where I’ve nothing better to do, then watch TV.
Oh …
And possibly complain about my bank.
My main one … ?
Was shut, today.
A planned closure, apparently, and one that got me complaining on Twitter.
@AskHalifaxBank why on Earth is the Brentwood branch shut?I can see it's a planned closure, but STILL want to know WHY ...— Paul Downie (@Cuddy2977) February 22, 2019
Honestly, you’d think whoever manages a bank’s social media account would be told these things.
Just in case any complaining customers happen to … you know … publicly whinge on Twitter!
~≈§≈~
At any rate, that’s not — necessarily — why I’m here.
No.
I like TV shows.
Right now, one particular favourite? Is the hit Spanish hit that is El Ministerio del Tiempo/The Ministry of Time.
But man does not live by bravas*, alone!
Nope … just as with food, we have to have the occasional change of pace.
Yep …
It’s Friday …
Episode 6 — The Sounds of Thunder — opens with a log entry from Saru (Doug Jones): telling us how almost dying a few episodes ago is having an impact.
It seems losing the ganglia that alert many of his species to threat … ?
Has literally left him incapable of feeling fear …
But also sympathetic to the newly revived Hugh Culber (Wilson Cruz): who’s struggling with returning from the dead.
It’s only whilst in sick bay … ?
That a red alert goes out.
One of the mysterious red signals has been spotted …
Just above a planet called Kaminar.
Home to the Ba’ul … and the Kelpians: Saru’s own people …
There’s trouble, afoot …
~≈§≈~
Now … good … ?
Actually, yes: the cast are on par, as ever, the writing and directing, done well …
And we find more about Saru’s home world: and the things that make Kelpians tick.
What’s more?
I said, last week, that the past few episodes were maybe a little too fast: a little too zippy, to be frank.
The Sounds of Thunder gets the pacing spot on.
If the show’s producers are reading this?
A few more episodes paced like the would be good.
* Regular, Olga, mentioned patatas braves awhile ago. They sound easy to make, although I’ve no idea how to make the sauce … !
