Nik Nak’s Daily Teaser — 10-12-2019: Number 10?

10th December, 2019.

Right …

It’s official: I’ve had half an hour extra in bed.

As the course I’m on is now starting at ten, instead of nine thirty: we are, as a group, getting ahead of ourselves.

I can’t complain.

An extra half hour in bed is always welcome.

~≈†≈~

I have to admit, I’ve got a Youtube channel.

And, of course, I get advertised to!

We all do.

Yesterday?   I opened up Youtube, so I could do my usual amount of uploading.

And … ?

Faced a huge advert from the Conservatives encouraging me to vote for them.

They can b*gger off!

Especially as I’ve got a ‘Vote Green’ poster in my window …

Let’s move on, shall we?

Yesterday’s Teaser saw Olga* and Debbi† putting in their answers: with both scoring five out of five.

Let’s see how everyone does with today’s questions, shall we?

Aëtius of Antioch.
And ten pieces by Mozart …

Today’s questions will be answered in tomorrow’s Teaser.

Have a good day.

*        Cuauhtlatoatzin?   I’m glad I didn’t know that when I made made the videos, Olga.   You’re right: it’s a hell of a mouthful!   It got me remembering an odd bit of history, though.   During World War Two, the US government employed Native Americans — Navaho, as far as I know — to translate messages into Navaho: then encrypt the messages.   It added an extra layer of difficulty to decoding attempts: as Navaho’s a rare language, with nothing to do with English or Japanese.   I was thinking that’s the problem, with Facebook: I’ve adjusted the settings at my end, if you wanted to have another try at your end!   (Yes: you did mention it: around the time of the initial Referendum.)

†        That it was, Debbi.   I’d not seen him in much, beyond Star Trek and Benson — way back in the day —   but Odo was one of THE characters … !   As for the Prisoner?   Remember the opening sequence?   The bit where we see McGoohan walking across the Village Green?   They recorded that bit after Checkmate: you can just the outline of the chessboard!   (I’m convinced Engardine’s a wizard: in the same sense James Bond’s Q, or or Neuromancer’s the Finn is.   They’re the people you go to, to get the bit of kit, or information, you need.)

Thanks, Paul. I have read about the Navajo thing as well, and I'm pretty sure there's a movie based on it, although I don't recall having watched it. I'll check on the Facebook situation when I can catch up! (It's a radio day today, but thankfully I don't have to read anything quite as complicated as that name!)
