Nik Nak’s Daily Teaser — 26-12-2019: #360

26th December, 2019.

Yep: that’s Christmas Day done.

Oh, at least, the stressful part of it.

Presents handed out, and food, eaten.

Or, at least, argued about.

I have to admit, I’ve now got some extra reading: the Glorantha Sourcebook has jumped to the top of my bedtime list, I know that … !

On top of that … ?

Jude, bless him, got a Playstation Four: along side copies of FIFA 2020 and Minecraft.

There’s more on the way, I know that: it’s his birthday, today.

On top of that … ?

I think the group present I got my family — a Google Chromecast media playing — went down well.

Once we got it set up.

And once negotiations about who’s paying for what, finish*!

Let’s move on, shall we?

Yesterday’s Teaser saw Debbi† putting in her answers: scoring nine out of ten in the process.

Let’s see how everyone does with today’s questions, shall we?

Here they are, along with the How To, License and video …

Q1) Boxing Day is the 360th day of the year.   Which day is it in a leap year?
Q2) There’s 360 what in a circle?
Q3) The symbol for those 360 items is a small, raised what?
Q4) Each of those 360 pieces is made up of 60 … what?
Q5) Is 360 a prime number?
Q6) What’s 360 in Roman numerals?
Q7) The Rickenbacker 360 is a model of semi-acoustic what?
Q8) 360° is a 2006 LP by which musician?
Q9) The Xbox 360 was a games console made by whom?
Q10) Finally … ?   The 360° Tour was a world tour by which Irish band … ?
Here’s yesterday’s questions and answers …

A1) Jesus.
Q2) His last name — in the standard British English version of it — is which C?
A2) Christ.
Q3) Is that last name a name … or a title?
A3) A title.

A4) The Messiah.
Q5) J was born in in Bethlehem.  What’s recently been returned to Bethlehem?
A5) Apparently?   A piece of wood that’s apparently part of Jesus’s manger.
Q6) Moving on … the album, A Very Special Christmas 5 includes a song called Christmas Day.   A song by which British singer?
A6) Dido.
Q7) According to Wikipedia, the most performed Christmas song — as of 2015 — is a 1934 tune called what?
Q8) Last Christmas was a huge hit for Wham!   Who plays the female lead in the 2019 film, Last Christmas?

Q10) Finally … ?   The first Christmas Day plot was in India: in 1909.   The second was supposed to take place on Christmas Day in which year?
A10) 1915.
Here’s a thought …
“I did a film once in the Sahara. It was pretty awe-inspiring. I remember sitting up on the roof of our hotel, watching the sun go down, and all around me, for 360 degrees, was nothing but sand. It took your breath away but also made you feel tiny.”
And a song …

Today’s questions will be answered in tomorrow’s Teaser.

Have a good day.

*        Many of the services on things like the Chromecast, AppleTV or Android TV streaming box are free.  Many of the best known ones — Netflix, Amazon Prime, AppleTV+, what have you — are subscription service.   They’re relatively cheap, individually.   But those costs can add up.

†        It’s worth a look, Debbi.   Although some of the questions just plain daft.   “What are the differences between a gay man and a straight man?” always struck me as an odd one!

I'm back! I was surprised when the phone company phoned me yesterday to tell me an engineer would be coming to check the connection today, as although it's not the case everywhere, in Catalonia today is a bank holiday as well, but hey, presto! He was here first thing in the morning, and it wasn't the router, it was the actual connection. It seems one of the boxes had fried, so no surprises there, but now I'm back in business (fingers crossed)!
Great to hear your Christmas went well. Yes, I was given one of those TVs from the internet company as well, but most of the interesting things have to be paid for individually, and I already had Amazon Prime, so other than as a way to record programmes, and I never have time to watch them later, it doesn't do much for me. They offered a year free of charge, but I don't think I'll renew it if I have to pay for it.
Have fun!
