*        Well … I did get to hear from the Medical assessment people, Olga: they’ve finally set a date.   So that’s something.

        And, yes: Jane Eyre always sounds like a job and a half!   I think to stop and think about the word ‘moor,’ there, I know that.   It’s an area of open country … but I automatically though of one of the other definition: that of a person of North African descent.   There’s a village near me called Blackmore: I always assumed the place had been named during the Crusades, and had a North African resident of some sort.   Except the Wikipedia entry tells me it’s a corruption of Black marsh/swamp.   Oh, well … !
