7th February, 2023: You Give Me Fever.
It’s officially officially: my blinds have dropped off!
Well, no … strictly speaking … ?
The string pulley — the thing that lets me open and close the blinds over my back window — has broken.
And, effectively, jammed the blinds open.
I think that’s going to need replacing … once I find my step ‰ladder!

Did I mention I watch TV shows?
I watch TV show: and started watching For All Mankind’s third series … and reviewed the first episode.
I hope you enjoy it.
Let’s move on, shall we?
Yesterday’s Teaser saw Olga*, Mum† and Debbi‡ putting in their answers: with everyone scoring ten out of ten.
Let’s see how everyone does with today’s questions, shall we?
Here they are, along with the How To, License and video.

From the Wikipedia entry on the Plague.
Today’s questions will be answered in tomorrow’s Teaser.
Decisions about scores are final.
Thank you for coming: have a good day.
* If I recall, correctly, Olga: MIT’s the place that coined the term ‘hack,’ and ‘hacker.’ From what I’ve understood, ‘hack’ meant that you solve a problem in an interesting way, or got extra information. A crossword hacker would be able solve a crossword … and work out who complied it. But you knew that, anyway! (I’ll try and keep an eye peeled for that writer!)
Chochos, hey … ? I think a twelve year old relative of mine’s going to LOVE that!
Carts and trolleys? There’s one I forgot! It’s the same with ‘trash’ and ‘bin.’ It’s only a few years ago that Apple replaced ‘trash’ with ‘bin,’ in the British English version of macOS! (It’s still ‘Trash’ in the versions of Windows and Linux I’ve used.)
† Hello, Mum! (10/10, yesterday: well done!)
‡ He edited this one, Debbi: and the follow up, EuroTemps. (I’ve not got to the relevant story, yet: but I remember correctly, one story was about a man who could turn into a giant frog. But couldn’t swim … )

Q1) Bubonic Plague
Q2) San Francisco
Q3) Chinatown
Q4) an epidemic
Q5) bacterium
Good luck with the blinds. I had a problem with one of the parts in one of mine, but, thankfully, my father had decided to install the old one I had replaced inside of the patio shed, and although the blind was a different size, the part was the same, so I got away with not having to replace the whole thing. (I was in the process of selling the house, so I couldn't see much point, as the new owners might have changed them all nonetheless).
1 Bubonic Plague
2 San Francisco
3 Chinatown
4 Epidemic
5 Bacterium
The guy's got an imagination.

3. Chinatown (a great movie, BTW, which involves the Chinatown in LA)
4. an epidemic
5. bacterium
