Nik Nak’s Daily Teaser — 1-4-2023 — April Fool’s Day!

1st April, 2023: April Fool’s Day.

Yep: it’s officially Saturday.

And … ?

Stuff will no doubt be occurring.

One thing I know I have to do?

Is try not to worry!

I was at a Tribunal, on Thursday: appealing a decision that had gone against me.

And told — at the time — I’d be notified by post, within a week, what would happen, what, if anything, I would be awarded.

Then I got the official email … telling I’d get the letter by Saturday, 7th April!

A couple of days, longer, in other words!

Frankly?

That isn’t exactly reassuring …

Rent …

That’s the other thing I have to do.

My rent, goes up from today.

And, frankly?

I’ve just let the benefits people know: online.

If things need doing, especially things like this … ?

It’s best to do them quickly.

Let’s move on, shall we?

Yesterday’s Teaser saw Mum* and Debbi† putting in their answers: with both scoring five out of five.

Let’s see how everyone does with today’s questions, shall we?

Here they are, along with the How To, License and video.

Q1)        Smell-o-vision was introduced as an April Fool’s Day gag: in 1965.   By whom: the BBC, ITV or Channel Four?

Q2)        Which Radio Four show featured a spoof guest called Sir Harry Whitlohn, on 1st April, 1963?

Q3)        1st April, 2016, saw Glenn Hagar — the Texas Comptroller of Public Accounts — announce Texas would be releasing its own what: currency, cheese or bank?

Q4)        According to a BBC report on 1st April, 2014, Samsung were due to release a smart what: smart glove, smart hat or smart potato?

Here’s yesterday’s questions and answers …

A1)        Botswana.

Here’s a thought …
“The first of April is the day we remember what we are the other 364 days of the year.”
Mark Twain.
And three songs that struck me as suitably silly …

Today’s questions will be answered in tomorrow’s Teaser.

Decisions about scores are final.

Thank you for coming: have a good day.

*        Hello, Mum!   (We’ve got a Wurzels song, today!)

I know, Debbi: if you assume, you make an ass out of you and me, both!   Believe it or not, the first time I came across the phrase with in The Silence of the Lambs: Harris’s original novel version!
