Nik Nak’s Daily Teaser — 9th April 2023.

9th April, 2023.

It’s Easter Sunday.

And frankly?

It’s a time for … well … avoiding chocolate, if you’re a type two diabetic.

Which is a shame: I’m found of the odd Yorkie Bar.

But there you go!

At any rate … ?

I’ve got the radio off: as today’s Sunday service is a bit too High Anglican for my taste.

Instead … ?

I’ve got some Dread Zeppelin.

Elvis-impersonating, reggae-tinged, versions of Led Zeppelin tunes match my mood far more closely …

At any rate … ?

It’s the day after I posted my review of ‘Surrender’: the eighth episode of Star Trek Picard’s third and final series.

I hope you enjoy it.

Let’s move on, shall we?

Yesterday’s Teaser saw Mum* and Debbi† putting in their answers: with Debbi scoring five out of five, and Mum on four.

The day also saw Trevor‡ leaving us a message.

Let’s see how everyone does with today’s questions, shall we?

Here they are, along with the How To, License and video.

Here’s a thought …
“Time lost is time not filled, time left empty.”
Dietrich Bonhoeffer, 4 February 1906 – 9 April 1945.
And a song …

Today’s questions will be answered in tomorrow’s Teaser.

Decisions about scores are final.

Thank you for coming: have a good day.

*        Hello, Mum!   (The right answer was Windows Vista, Mum!)

Happy Easter, Debbi: don’t over do the chocolate!

I’m keeping my fingers crossed, Trevor!   (Apparently, the National Museum of Computing has an ICL 2966: from the 1980s.   Possibly after your time.)

Paul I programmed main frames of all kinds from 1966 up to at least 2007. I did just about all the British manufacturers and most of the American manufacturers. Who has not programmed at least 1 type of IBM main frame.

The National Museum of Computing has an ICT 1301 called Flossie. It was two of these that I first worked on.

First at Appleby-Frodingam Steel works in Scunthorpe and at Nottinghamshire County Council

Wow! All this talk of computing and IBM mainframes really takes me back.

I studied electronics technology in community college, after high school. Took a few computer courses. I was a musician then. Thought about doing electronic music. Inspired a bit by Pete Townshend, a bit by Eno. What a combination! :)
