Nik Nak’s Daily Teaser — 13-4-2023 — Katyn.

13th April, 2023: Katyn.

Right …

It’s now, officially, Thursday: and … ?

I’m not a happy bunny.

Just over two weeks ago, I was at a tribunal: and managed to persuade the court of my case.

Waiting for the money, though … ?

Is very frustrating.

Oy … !

At any rate?

My nephew was over, last night.

He’s a very observant lad, that one.

At any rate … ?

We’ve done another video … about Japanese KitKats … !

Feel free to enjoy the video …

Let’s move on, shall we?

Yesterday’s Teaser saw Mum* and Debbi† putting in their answers: with both scoring five out of five.

The day also saw Olga‡ leaving us a message.

Let’s see how everyone does with today’s questions, shall we?

Here they are, along with the How To, License and video.

Q1)        Mass graves were discovered in Katyn Forest: on 13th April, 1943.   The bodies were of military officers, and Prisoners of War, from where: Poland, Germany or Lithuania?

Q2)        Katyn, and its forest, are where: Russia, Poland or Lithuania?

Q3)        The massacre was carried out by Soviet officials.   From which Soviet body: the Army, Navy or Secret Police?

Q4)        The orders for the Massacre were issued by whom: the Politburo, Adolf Hitler or Vidkun Quisling?

Q5)        Finally … ?   The State Duma finally blamed Stalin, and other officials, for the Massacre.   When: 1990, 2000 or 2010?
Here’s yesterday’s questions and answers …

Q1)        12th April, 1947, saw the birth of the author of 1987’s Patriot Games.   Who was that author?
A1)        Tom Clancy.

Q2)        According to the United Nations, 12th April is the International Day of Human what: Space Flight, Communications or Arts?
A2)        Space Flight.

Q3)        It’s also known as who’s night: Piotr’s Night, Yuri’s Night or Sergei’s Night?
A3)        Yuri’s Night.

Q4)        Dr Salk’s vaccine was declared safe: on 12th April, 1955.   The vaccine was a vaccine against what: Polio, diabetes or malaria?
A4)        Polio.

Q5)        Finally … ?   12th April is the feast day of Saint Zeno of Verona.   Where is Verona: France, Italy or Croatia?
A5)        Italy.

Here’s a thought …

“Though the killings also occurred in the Kalinin and Kharkiv prisons and elsewhere, the massacre is named after the Katyn Forest, where some of the mass graves were first discovered”.
From the Wikipedia entry on the Massacre.

And a video …

Today’s questions will be answered in tomorrow’s Teaser.

Decisions about scores are final.

Thank you for coming: have a good day.

*        Hello, Mum!

It’s mostly where it’s in Irish Gaelic, Debbi: that usually get’s someone annoyed.   The language is … contentious … in the region.   You notice I don’t say ‘Province’?   One of the older terms for Northern Ireland?   Older unionists then to use it, Nationalists really don’t like it.   It’s seen as a sign the area’s ruled by foreigners.
The video was rather good, wasn’t it?   Graham Norton’s show’s been on for years: and whenever Miriam Margoyles turns up, it’s a riot!

Cheers, Olga: we’ll look forward to having you back!   Yes, I know about bug bounties: my coding’s really not good enough: but it’s certainly worth doing!   (Last bug I reported was my external blu-ray drive not showing up.   Apple managed to fix that, relatively quickly.)

Your nephew is growing really quickly. Wow! I didn't get to check the requirements but yes, it is well-worth investigating, although I'm sure many people are trying to catch the bugs. Good luck with the payment. I hope it isn't too delayed.
