Yes. I don't think I turned up to work on the wrong day, but I remember I had started working at a different hospital (when I was training we moved jobs every six months, sometimes in the same hospital, but sometimes to a different place altogether), and I drove automatically to the hospital where I used to work instead of to the new place. It wasn't a problem, as I left in plenty of time, but it just goes to prove how many things we do without thinking, even complex things.
Val Kilmer... He was the protagonist of Spartan, one of David Mamet's movies, but that one came out after I had already finished my thesis, so I never got to write about it. It is not his best movie (well, Mamet's either) but it is interesting.
