The Daily Teaser — 27-5-2015

Wouldn’t you know it?

I’m literally yawning my head off, here.

You’ve probably worked out I’m now working: in a local fast-food restaurant.

I can’t complain about that.

Especially after some four years out of work.

But … ?   But I’ll tell you what, starting at nine … ?

Starting at nine — for me — means getting up at five to get a post or three up.

And, boy … but my eyeballs know it!

~≈Ê≈~

But let’s get a move on, shall we?

Yesterday’s Teaser saw both Debbi* and Ivor Biggun†, putting in their answers: with Ivor scoring four out of five, and Debbi scoring five.

Let’s see how everyone does with today’s questions, shall we?

Here they are, along with the How Tolicense and video …

Q1) 27th May, 927, saw the death of Simeon 1st: broadly regarded as the first emperor of which European country?
Q2) 27th May, 1927, saw the Ford Motor Company cease production of the Model T.   In which Aldous Huxley novel is Ford regarded as a messiah?
Q3) 27th May, 1942, saw assassins from Operation Anthropoid kill senior Nazi, Reinhard Heydrich.   At the time, Heydrich was the governor of a region that’s now in which European country?
Q4) 27th May, 1941, saw the final sinking of which German battleship?
Q5) Finally … 27th May, 1935, saw the birth of actress and model, Lee Merriwether.   She, Eartha Kitt, Anne Hathaway and Camren Bicondova, have all played versions of which character?
Here’s yesterday’s questions and answers …
Q1) 26th May, 1907, saw the birth of actor, Marion Morrison.   Morrison was better known under his stage name.   What was that stage name: James Stewart, John Wayne or Paul Newman?
Q2) 26th May, 2013, saw the birth of actor, Peter Cushing.   In which film did he play Dr Abner Perry?
Q3) 26th May, 1806, saw who crowned as King of Italy?
Q4) 26th May is the feast day of Saint Augustine of Canterbury.   Augustine is thought to be the first archbishop of where?
Q5) Finally … 26th May, 1981, saw the government of which European country, resign: as a result of a scandal?
A5) Italy.
I’ll leave you with this thought from Siouxsie Sioux …
“I like a bit of eye candy like anyone but to have it solely about the eye candy and have it fall into a category so rigidly as well is wrong.”

Siouxsie Sioux, born 27th May, 1957.
And this tune …

Have a good day … !

*        It WAS a bit good, Debbi, I know that!   (Ohhh … would you mind giving me a shout when the next series starts in the US?   That way, I’ll have a rough idea of when it re-starts, over here!)

†        Play fair, Ivor, I have corrected that …

Wayne … ?

Can I ask you A HUGE favour, please?

I can’t help but notice you put your answers in, yesterday, under the name Ivor Biggun. Can you do me the HUGE favour of using your real name, please?

Rather than pseudonyms that are patently juvenile, and vaguely offensive: certainly to me.

I do have an audience to consider that doesn’t just consist of you.

If you CAN’T do that … ? I’d rather you didn’t comment.

Thank you.
