The Daily Teaser — 7-5-2015: Elected … !

Right, that’s THAT done!

I don’t know about you, but I’ve got books.   Quite a few books.

Just enough to always need shelf space.

Which I managed to pick up, the other day: in my local branch of B&M.

They do a fair selection of cheap furniture.   Including a bookshelf that I assembled, quickly, yesterday, and out in my bedroom.   It’s now got every one of Terry Pratchett’s Discworld novels I own.

Although, thinking about it … ?

I might just need another …

Oh, one other thing … ?

Today sees a general election in the UK: as you may or may not know.   Personally?   Personally, I’m still not sure who to vote for.

I’m really not keen on voting Liberal Democrat: although I know David Kendall, I can’t forgive them for going into coalition with the Tories, in 2010.

I REALLY couldn’t vote for Eric Pickles: while I’ve personally found their policy of bigger tax breaks for those of us on the minimum wage, I still remember how bloody unhelpful the Work Programme they introduced was.

Don’t even ask me about UKIP.   Or the English Democrats.   They’re a little too right wing for my tastes.

The Greens?   Their candidate, Dr Reza Houssain, is one I’m tempted to vote for.   From what I’ve seen of him in the local papers, he’s done some genuine work for Friend of the Earth, and Greenpeace, standing up for his beliefs.   I’m VERY aware, though, that many in Brentwood and Ongar would’t vote for him: purely because he’s Asian.   Having worked in pubs in Brentwood for so long, I know exactly how racist people in this town are.

Labour?   No.   I really don’t trust Ed Milliband.

There might well be nothing else for it: except voting Green.   Or spoiling my vote …

Right …

It’s Ten O’clock: and I’ve voted, already.

I went Green for Brentwood and Ongar’s MP.

And spoiled my voting paper in the local elections.

Will others do the same?
