Nik Nak’s Daily Teaser — 12-7-2017: Saint Basil’s

Bugger: that’s a pain!

I had a little money saved up: some of which … ?

Has gone towards a new pair of spectacles.

The rest of which … ?

I was thin king of putting towards a new phone.

I think that idea’s gone for a burton.

As the kitchen light — a four foot neon tube — has gone!

I think I can say goodbye to the new phone.

At least for now.

That’s not the worrying bit.

The worrying bit is digging the ladder up, and replacing the bulb.

I hate heights!

In amongst all this?

In amongst all this, I’ll admit to having some time off, right now.

Which is nice.

While I’m in the High Street, getting that bulb, I can pick something up from the post office.

I’ve had a delivery from Amazon: a shirt I ordered, I think.

At least something too big for my letter box.

It also means something else: I can get a late night, staying up, and watching TV.

Pretty much like last night, actually.

I managed to see the opening three episodes of series two of American Horror Story, last night.

Great stuff, I should add.

But it looks like Jessica Lange’s going to walk away with it, again!

Let’s move on, shall we?

Yesterday’s Teaser saw Mr Strict* and Debbi† putting in their answers: with both scoring five out of five.

And an opinion …
“… it is like no other Russian building. Nothing similar can be found in the entire millennium of Byzantine tradition from the fifth to fifteenth century”
Dmitry Shvidkovsky, Russian Architecture and the West.
Today’s questions will be answered in tomorrow’s Teaser.

Have a good day.

*        Morning, Mr S: I take it we’ve left you feeling suitable brainy?

†        I know he crops up in Pet Sematary, Debbi: as does Denise Crosby, Tasha Yar from Star Trek.

‡        One of the very few cities whose name rhymes with ‘barbecued iguana’.

Q1) St. Basil’s (now I’ll be thinking of Fawlty Towers) in 1561
Q2) Moscow
Q3) Square
Q4) Moat
Q5) Terrible (What a fabulous name!)
Thanks, Paul. It is a bit tricky to try to fit everything in these days (and my mother's computer training is going slower than the notebook itself). One of my friends and her son will come for a visit early in August, so I'll have to try and get a lot done in the week between my mother's leaving and their arriving.
There must be a conspiracy going on. I also had to change the kitchen fluorescent tube when I came back from Barcelona. Also a long one. Twist and turn job, but not easy to do one person alone unless you have very long arms.
All the best.
