Right …
It’s eh CHEE sos … !
eh CHEE sos … !
I … hope … !
I know what you’re doing, right now.
You’re looking at this and thinking to yourself, “Paul … ? What ARE you gabbling on about?!”
I’m trying to work out the exact pronunciation of the word hechizos: the Spanish word for — depending on who you ask — witchcraft, or spells.
I’m not working at the moment: I’m catching up with a lot of box sets, as a result.
Series three, if you must know.
Yes: I watched another episode, tonight.
And, given my Spanish is non-existent?
I’m convinced that I sound like I’m sneezing, trying to pronounce the title … !

Episode 3 — Tiempo de hechizos/Time of witchcraft — sees our Pacino, Amelia and Alonso (Hugo Silva, Aura Garrida and Nacho Fresnada) assigned to a case near the Aragonese village of Trasmoz*: the only place in the whole of Spain that’s been formally excommunicated … !
The problem?
The town is home to Spain’s best author, Gustavo Adolfo Bécquer, whose Letters from My Cell are considered classics the age.
There’s supposed to be nine of them.
The tenth one that’s turned up … ?
Is giving the Ministry’s boss, Salvador (Jaime Blanch), a headache.
That’s not all.
Salvador has decided to rehire the treasonous Lola (Macarena García): but make sure — this time around — sheets some serious training.
From the Ministry’s formidable Logistic head, Irene (Cayetana Guillén Cuervo) … one of the two Ministry member’s who’d rather see Lola left out to dry.

Oh, and to top that off … ?
There’s a witch in Trasmoz.
Who seems to have been around for a while …

Now … I’ll confess to feeling just a bit tired right now.
I think when you’re not working, little things can drain you.
So, having to sort out an appeal, this morning, against a sanction I’ve earned?
So, having to sort out an appeal, this morning, against a sanction I’ve earned?
Was a touch wearing, I think.
However?
I’ve closed the day having information about it …
AND been able to catch another episode of what’s become an a favourite TV show.
Right now?
Tiempo de hechizos has turned out to be another great little episode of El Ministerio del Tiempo: one with mystery, conflict …
And an ending that tragic and powerful.
Frankly?
I’ve become convinced that El Ministerio del Tiempo is one of the finer bits of TV I’ve seen.
Tiempo de hechizos? Tiempo de hechizos is just more evidence of that.
* Not only has it been excommunicated, but Trasmoz has a statue of a mop. Apparently, the Spanish inventor who came up with one version lived in the town. Brentwood’s got the Sugar Hut: and The Only Way is Essex. I’d be happier with the mop …
