Nik Nak’s Daily Teaser — 15th May, 2022.

15th May, 2022.

Yes, it is, isn’t it?

It’s nice for Ukraine that they won Eurovision, last night: with the rousing Stephania.

Good for them.

The UK … ?   Actually came second.

No that I’ve actually heard the song: I turned it off after a few seconds

At any rate, well done to both of them.

And to the Spanish entry: apparently, they’ve caused the sort of scandal you only get at Eurovision.

~≈Á≈~

At any rate … ?

I wasn’t actually watching the contest.

Partly because Ukraine’s win seemed to be a foregone conclusion.

But partly?   Because I was making another video review.

Here’s what I thought of All In …

~≈Á≈~
Let’s move on, shall we?

Yesterday’s Teaser saw Olga*, Mum†, and Debbi‡ putting in their answers: with everyone scoring five out of five.

Let’s see how everyone does with today’s questions, shall we?

Here they are, along with the How To, License and video.

Q1)        15th May is the feast day of Saint Dymphna.   She’s a patron saint of the victims of what: sexual assault, syphilis or drought?

Q2)        15th May is the International Day of what: families, fish or phantoms?

Q3)        To many Orthodox Churches, 15th May is the feast day of Saint Pachomius the Great.   He’s usually depicted as a what: nun, cardinal or hermit?

Q4)        Abd al-Rahman 1st became the first Emir of Córdoba on 15th May, 756AD.   The Emirate was on what’s now called the what: Balkan Peninsular, Iberian Peninsular or Bruce Peninsular?

Q5)        Finally … ?   Las Vegas was founded on 15th May, 1905.   It’s in which US state?
Today’s video has yesterday’s answers.

Here’s yesterday’s questions and answers …

Q1)        14th May is Hastings Banda’s Birthday.   It marks the birthday of the first President of where: Malawi, Ruanda or Ghana?
A1)        Malawi.

Q2)        The May 14 Revolt took place on 14th May, 1915.   Where: Spain, Portugal or France?
A2)        Portugal.

Q3)        14th May, 1953, saw brewery workers start a strike.   In which Wisconsin city: Green Bay, Madison or Milwaukee?
A3)        Milwaukee.

Q4)        Which Middle Eastern state declared itself independent, on 14th May, 1948: Jordan, Syria or Israel?
A4)        Israel.

Q5)        Finally … ?   14th May is the Feast Day of Saint Matthias the Apostle.   He’s supposed to be the man chosen to replace whom: Simon Peter, Thomas or Judas?
A5)        Judas Iscariot.
Here’s a thought …
“Some of my youthful readers are developing wonderful imaginations.   This pleases me.”
L. Frank Baum, May 15, 1856 – May 6, 1919.
And a song …

Today’s questions will be answered in tomorrow’s Teaser.

The quizmaster’s decisions about scores are final.

Thank you for coming: have a good day.

*        Oh, I know, Olga.   From what I’ve understood, that’s why they have to do the eye check, and foot check: the mix of nerve and circulation damage.
Oooh … then that’s the other reason to exercise?   Now I know!   Cheers!   Walking to the chemist, over the past couple of days helped twice.   (There’s an old line from Terry Pratchett, as well: about how our walk is our second face.)
I think that’s partly the idea behind the brand names: to make things easier to pronounce.   Although I’m very aware there‘s a lot of patent law involved there.   (The injections are semaglutide: which has the name Ozempic.   I’m finding both easy.)

        Hello, Mum!

In the bottom of your foot, Debbi?   I’d imagine you need to be bendy.   But at least it’s good for your soul.   Your soul … ?   Soul … ?   I’ll just go sit on the naughty step, shall I … ?

Tomorrow is the anniversary of an event that happened at breakfast time on Whit-Sunday 1948.

“But the child who is born on the Sabbath day Is bonnie and blithe and good and gay. “

“Sunday. According to astrology, people born on Sunday are lucky ducks. Their ruling star is the Sun, which typically means they'll be bright, creative, bold, and loud. “

“Those born on Sunday shine in their life, like the Sun. Astrologically; it is believed that people born on Sunday are lucky ducks. Those born on Sunday are super special as per Vedic astrology. Sunday-born individuals are always on the lookout for something different and never satisfied with anything ordinary.”

Q1) Sexual assault (The story of the town where she landed, Geel, and their attitude to mental illness sounds wonderful).

Q2) Families

Q3) A hermit (You seem quite fond of this saint. I remember the crocodile question).

Q4) The Iberian Peninsula

Q5) Nevada
I think that walking is good for everything, especially if you're wearing the proper footgear. (I find it good for inspiration as well).
Yep, I think the Ukrainian win was expected...

Actually, I was referring to the Botox injections for dystonia. Those definitely aren't self-administered. :) That could be deadly.
