26th May, 2022.
Right …
It’s officially official: it’s sunny.
Which makes for a pleasant change: the past few days have been a bit drizzly.
The weather being this nice?
Means the little bit of shopping I’m planning on will be in the sunshine.

There’s talk that catches your attention: if you’re on a limited budget.
You’ll have realised that — as I qualified for a one hundred and fifty payment for those in council tax bands A to D — I welcome free money.
Free money is always handy.
There’s also been talk that — at some point in October — that people in fuel poverty will receive a £200 loan: that will be paid off in a four to five year period.
Something I don’t like: however good that loan’s terms are, it’s still something I can’t afford to pay back.
However, there’s talk — talk — that this is scrapped: and replaced by some sort of grant in October.
I’d welcome that.
I’d prefer to see the return of the £20 uplift: that gave those of us on Universal Credit far more cash.
But … ?
Right now, anything would be welcome.
Let’s move on, shall we?
Yesterday’s Teaser saw Olga*, Mum†,and Debbi‡ putting in their answers: with everyone scoring five out of five.
Let’s see how everyone does with today’s questions, shall we?
Q1) 26th May saw the birth of John Wayne. In which year: 1906, 1907 or 1908?Q2) Under the name Marion what: Morrison, Aldi or Smith?Q3) He was known as the what: Duke, Earl or Viscount?Q4) Wayne was an uncredited extra in Mother Machree, Four Sons and Hangman’s House. Who directed those films: Clint Eastwood, John Ford or John Huston?Q5) Finally … ? Wayne’s only Best Actor Oscar win was for his part as Rooster Cogburn. In which 1969 film?
Yesterday’s answers are in today’s video.
Here’s yesterday’s questions and answers …

It marks the country’s independence from where: France, Germany or the UK?Q2) What’s Jordan’s capital: Amman, Zarqa or Irbid?A2) Amman.Q3) Abdullah II is Jordan’s current what: King, Emperor or Sultan?A3) King.Q4) Jordan’s currency is the Jordanian what: dollar, pound or dinar?A4) The Jordanian dinar. Here’s a thought …
“I eat as much as I ever did, I drink more than I should, and my sex life is none of your goddamned business.”John Wayne.
And a song …
Today’s questions will be answered in tomorrow’s Teaser.
The quizmaster’s decisions about scores are final.
Thank you for coming: have a good day.
* You should see some of the songs Jude plays on Alexa, Olga! The mind boggles. I’ll keep my eyes open for Buñuel: although there‘s only three of his films on the TV App.
And you’re very right about prices. The past few years, I’ve been able to keep my electricity down to around fifty quid a month. The past couple of months? It’s been about seventy-five. That extra £150 means I should have paid off my council tax by October: so that should help free something.
There’s always something found, Olga: although the fires that seem to plague film archives, don’t help! (The 2008 one destroyed a lot of musical master tapes, as well.) Here;
† Hello, Mum!
‡ Oh, I left you a comment, Debbi: hopefully it stuck. But, so you know? Adams also wrote The Pirate Planet: and co-wrote City of Death under the name, David Agnew.
Oh, and TELL me about it … ! We’ve found a cheap USB mic, and a green screen: just in case Mummy’s feeling minted … !
Rick’s very right to be angry! What got me, Debbi? Is that one (Republican) Governor’s gone on the record — I wish I could find that bloody quote — blaming the lack of mental health support the shooter got. Or didn’t get, I should say. That’s possibly a whole other argument.
Ethnocide? Ha! Remind me to mention the Buffalo shooting, a week or two ago … !

Small businesses are having a hell of a time paying their bills as well. It's ridiculous. I hope they come up with some answer, but, considering how things are looking, rather than grants they should just increase the aid and pensions to make sure everybody can keep up.
Yes, the fires are a problem, because old films were very flammable, and I don't think they were kept properly.
Funny scoring again. Every one got ten out of ten on a five question set?
Oh it looks like more free money that i do not need.
Got your comment, of course.
