Thursday 26 September 2024

Nik Nak’s Daily Teaser — 26th September 2024.

26th September, 2024.

Right … it’s now Thursday.

And … ?

I have a tribunal to attend, today: to see if I’m eligible for any extra financial help.

I’m a little nervous about it.

But hoping it goes my way: the extra help would be very useful.

We’ll have to see if I’ve wasted my time, later.

~≈⚖️≈~

Let’s move on.

Yesterday’s Teaser saw Mum*, Olga† and Debbi‡ putting in their answers: with everyone scoring five out of five.

Let’s see how everyone does with today’s questions, shall we?

Here they are, along with the How To, License and video.

Q1)        The Battle of Polygon Woods started: on 26th September, 1917.   During which war?

Q2)        The 2024 Vancouver International Film Festival starts on 26th September, 2024.   Where in Canada is Vancouver: British Columbia, Newfoundland and Labrador or Quebec?

Q3)        William 2nd was crowned as King: on 26th September, 1087.   King of where: England, Ireland, Scotland or Wales?

Q4)        T. S. Eliot was born on 26th September, 1888.   Where: Missouri, Kentucky or Florida?

Q5)        Finally … ?   Anne Robinson was born on 26th September, 1944.   What was the first newspaper she worked on: the Daily Mail, Sunday Times or the News of the World?
Here’s yesterday’s questions and answers …

Q1)        25th September, 2023, saw the death of actor, David McCallum.   Who did he play in TV series, Sapphire and Steel?
A1)        Steel.

Q2)        Which actress starred with him, in Sapphire and Steel?
A2)        Joanna Lumley.   The thing was one hell of a show

Q3)        He played Donald ‘Ducky’ Mallard in which US series: NCIS, CSI: Miami or Kolchak: The Night Stalker?
A3)        NCIS.

Q4)        In which series did McCallum play Ilya Kuryakin?
A4)        The Man From UNCLE.   (MGM, the show’s producers, received more fan mail for McCallum, as Ilya, than any of their other performers.)

Q5)        Finally … ?   McCallum played Simon Carter in Colditz. The real world castle the series was based on, was a WW2-era German what: prisoner-of-war camp, concentration camp, or slave labour camp?
A5)        Prisoner-of-war camp.
Here’s a thought …
“I knew I’d conquered America when Mike Tyson told me I was one mean lady.”
Anne Robinson, born 26 September 1944.
A song …

And an earworm …

Today’s questions will be answered in tomorrow’s Teaser.

Decisions about scores are final.

Thank you for coming: have a good day.

*        Hello, Mum!

That sounds like a very worthwhile cause, Olga.   And the “My favourite person” t-shirt?   Would be a perfect gift for a friend of mine!

That’s OK, Debbi: I know how busy things can get.   I’ve got lord knows how many videos to edit!

I hope the tribunal today goes well and you get some extra help. My Kindle is dying on me, so I have to decide what I'm going to get next. (To be fair, I've had it for 12 years, so I can't complain, but it isn't charging any longer, and everything I've tried hasn't worked. You can no longer update the software, so if that's the problem, there isn't anything I can do about it. Oh, well.)
