The reason I mention it … ?

Is simply the fact that the iconic bicycle’s designer, Alan Oakley, died recently: and Radio Four’s Today programme ran a piece about the bike as a way of marking his funeral.

The thing’s one learns when someone dies are amazing.

The one thing that grabbed me, as it floated past … ?   Was the fact the bike cost the equivalent, in today’s money, of £400 … !

Ah, the Brentwood Library! :) A must-see place on my tour of London. Along with Abbey Road and the Clock Tower, so we can hear the chimes of Big Ben up close.

I'll have my Rick Steves travel guide clutched in (gimpy) hand. Ha ha ha ...

We'll no doubt hit a Waterstones, just so I can browse the books, of course. :)
