Nik Nak’s Daily Teaser — 2nd November, 2018.

2nd November, 2018.

Yep: Apple have finally and released an updated Mac mini.

At bloody last!   And WAY too long after my birthday for my comfort!

It’s rather good: bar the solid state drive size — 128 gigabytes on the baseline model — and an a slightly more powerful video card?

An it looks like you can rev up the RAM, yourself: although I could be wrong*.

It’s actually a better specced machine than my 2017 iMac!

I might just start saving up … !

Let’s move on, shall we?

Yesterday’s Teaser saw Olga† and Debbi‡ putting in their answers: with both scoring five out of five.

Let’s see how everyone does with today’s questions, shall we?

Here they are, along with the How To, License and video …

Q1) 2nd November is the UN sanctioned International Day to End Impunity for Crimes Against … whom?
Q2) More to the point, which of those whoms was killed in the Saudi Arabian Consulate in Istanbul?
Q3) Which Pacific nation adopted a standard time zone: on 2nd November, 1868?
Q4) The sixth game of Baseball’s 2016 World Series was won: on 2nd November, 2016.   By whom?
Q5) Finally … 2nd November, 1922, saw the birth of Irish sportsman, Seánie Duggan.   Which sport did he play: Hurling, Shinty or Camogie?
Here’s yesterday’s questions and answers …

Q1) 1st November is Calan Gaeaf.   In which country of the UK?
A1) Wales.   (Apparently, if you’re the last child home on Calan Gaeaf, you get eaten by a ghostly black sow.)
Q2) 1st November is ALSO All Saints’ Day.   Who wrote The Feast of All Saints?
A2) Anne Rice.
Q3) 1st November, 1966, saw Viet Cong guerrillas bomb the capital of South Vietnam.   What was that capital?
A3) Saigon.   It’s now called Ho Chi Minh City, so you know.
Q4) The first US president to live in what’s now called the White House, was moved into it on 1st November, 1800.   Who was that President?
Q5) Finally … ?   A fire at a chemical plant in Switzerland, on 1st November, 1986, saw toxic chemicals released into the nearest river.   What WAS that river?
A5) The Rhine.
Here’s a thought …
“Fortunately the family is a human institution: humans made it and humans can change it.”
Shere Hite, born November 2, 1942.
And a song …

Today’s questions will be answered in tomorrow’s Teaser.

Have a good day.

*        The first Mac I bought, myself, was the 2007 Mac mini: it was tricky to upgrade the RAM, yourself, but doable.   Later models were easier to upgrade … unlike more recent models.

†        I have to admit, Olga^, I didn’t quite take to Sunshine: I might have to have another look at it.   I have seen Trainspotting — which is fantastic — and Steve Jobs.   But I figure you’d guessed I’d seen Steve Jobs!   (That Mini looks rather good … AHEM!).

‡        That’s a bloody good point, Debbi^!   I think they were supposed to be humanely killed, but … !   Wouldn’t be the first time I’ve tripped over a plot-hole!   Still … There’s always next week!   (Oh, oh!   There’s a new Mac mini out!   AHEM!)

^.       Did I mention I caught It: Chapter One, last night?   It’s good … but I think I could’ve been better off with something shorter … !

I haven't watched the movie about Steve Jobs, although I think I have a book about him on my Kindle and definitely one about Elon Musk... Christmas is coming. Remember to send a letter to Father Christmas...
