Westworld — Series 2 — Episode 5 Akane no Mai: A Review

8th April, 2019.

That’s actually a very good question: did you read this morning’s post … ?

It’s a shame if you didn’t: I put a lot of working those Teasers.

At any rate?

You’d realised I was due a visit from a repairman today: one due to rehang a cupboard door.

He was due between eight and one …

But actually turned up quarter past nine.

And had the job done in half an hour.

You can’t complain about work like that, now can you … ?

~≈§≈~

At any rate … ?

That left the rest of the day free.

One spent having a healthy walk, jobhunting …

Making videos …

Oh, and towards this evening?

Catching a TV show.

But you’d possibly guessed …

~≈§≈~

Episode 5Akane no Mai — opens by showing us the Delos security teams doing the clearing up of the bodies they’ve found: realising in the process that about a third of the hosts … ?   Have no programmed behaviours.

These host would not be out of control: as they’ve never been controlled.

Meanwhile?

A small group led by Maeve  have found themselves wondering into Shogun World: the park’s ultra exclusive exclusion section, modelled on medieval Japan …

And much less tame than the regular park.

Maeve’s team are quickly told — by one of its few human members — that the reason it looks familiar …

Is because that had to … borrow a few story lines.

And when Maeve (Thandiwe Newton) realises her powers aren’t working as they should … ?

She also finds that she seems to be developing a form of telepathy …

Elsewhere … ?

Teddy (James Marsden) is starting to realise the depth of his feelings for Dolores (Evan Rachel Wood).

Only to find she … definitely doesn’t feel the same way …

Now … ?

Am I tired, right now?

You betcha!

Am I also wanting to go back to Westworld for more?

Am I also wanting to see Dolores’ story, evolve?   Wanting to see how Maeve’s abilities, her hacked access to the park’s systems?

What’s in Peter Abernathy’s head?

Oh, yes!
