You know, it looks like a big day for Roman Catholics.   It’s the day that the conclave starts, to replace Benedict 16th.

Well, I say important for Catholics.

It’s not like any one I know gets a direct voice in the process.

Only those 115 fifteen cardinals actually get that.

Either way, as I always point out to some of my atheistic friends: those 115 men will get to name one of the most influential figures on the planet.

1.2 billion people on the planet are Catholic: even the most lapsed, I  feel, will pay attention, just so they can ignore whatever he says.
