Nik Nak’s Daily Teaser — 29th April, 2019.

29th April, 2019.

Yes, it’s true: we’ve found something out!

I think I’ve mentioned this before: but don’t quote me on that!   My memory’s as fallible as anything else, these days …

At ANY rate …

I think I’ve mentioned that my nephew, Jude, asked I could install a game called Forza Street on his mother’s computer.

Alongside Fortnite Battle Royale.

We managed to get it installed: only for Ruth and Jude to find later, that the game kept crashing.

~≈§≈~

Which Jude found a little disappointing, to say the least.

But … ?

The least I could do was have a look, last night — Sunday’s is usually the big family dinner night — at Ruth’s computer, to see what could be the issue.

As it turned out … ?

The big problem was simply the respective games’ minimum requirements.

With — at least in the case of Forza Street — the processor speed causing serious issues.

Well …

At least we know what to look for: and can possibly persuade Jude that having a word with Santa about possibly Xboxes may be an idea.

Frankly, though … ?

For someone more familiar with macOS, than Windows, finding the specifications is a fiddly job*!

Let’s move on, shall we?

Yesterday’s Teaser saw Debbi‡ putting in her answers: scoring five out of five in the process.

Let’s see how everyone does with today’s questions, shall we?

Here they are, along with the How To, License and video …

Q1) 29th April, 1899, saw the birth of which band leader?
Q2) Emperor Hirohito was born on 29th April, 1901.   Who takes over as Japanese emperor: on the 30th April of this year?
Q3) 29th April is the feast day of Saint Endelienta.   The saint’s main church?   Is in which English county?
Q4) 29th April, 1986, saw the burial of the Duchess of Windsor.   Who had she been married to?
Q5) Finally … ?   29th April, 1931, saw the birth of singer, Lonnie Donegan.   What — in 1955 — was his first UK hit?
Here’s yesterday’s questions and answers …

Q1) 28th April saw The Dark Side of the Moon, reach Number one on the US album charts.   What was the album’s highest UK chart position?
A1) 2.
Q2) Which band recorded and released The Dark Side of the Moon?
Q3) Singer, Clare Torry, features on which The Dark Side of the Moon track?
Q4) Brain Damage — on side two of The Dark Side of the Moon — was partly about which former member of the band?
A4) Syd Barrett.
Q5) Finally … ?   The album’s cover features a beam of light … hoping through a what?
A5) A prism.
Here’s a thought …
“Rather than trying to put an end to Eminem or some other rapper, politicians should think about why they’re rapping. It’s easier to try to censor some kid who’s swearing about poverty than it is to stop the poverty.”
Willie Nelson‡, born April 29, 1933.
And a song …

Today’s questions will be answered in tomorrow’s Teaser.

Have a good day.

*        On a Mac?   You click the Apple menu, then About This Mac.   That shows you the basics, at least.

†        I’ve said it before, Debbi: the fact you’re still here, after all this time?   Is something I’m eternally grateful for!

‡        I’m convinced Willie Nelson and David Bradley are hiding something …

I'm back! Worse for wear but I'm here. I fell quite ill on the way to Paris but have managed to survive the whole experience more or less in one piece.
Q1) Duke Ellingtom
Q2) Crown Prince Naruhito
Q3) Cornwall
Q4) Edward VIII
Q5) Rock Island Line? I’ve found that one and Lost John as hits but in 1956, so I’m not sure if you’re thinking of something else.
If they have Windows installed, the latest, you right click, go to system and about... And that should tell you what you need, I think, but it depends on the Word version.
