Q3) Geffen Records (this is a bit of a trick question, as he founded all of them, but not all in 1980). Are you trying to check if we’re awake? Not sure I am, to tell you the truth. We discovered the problem they were supposed to have sorted on Friday is not sorted yet, and we still have water dropping at the back, on the patio, and falling on the washing machine.

Well, the work at the front isn't quite finished yet, and they are using a huge lifting platform that we have parked in front of the building, not quite in front of our window, but it's a bit weird. I guess they will finish tomorrow. On the other hand, as I mentioned before, the work at the back doesn't seem to have solved the problem. It seems they need to also replace the part of the drain between the floor above us and ours. I was trying to take a picture or a video of where the water is coming from, but it is right above our flat, and there are many drains connecting, so there's no clear view. The neighbour from the flat upstairs, who works in the building trade, also came to have a look, and he could see the water dropping, but there was no way to get an image. It is all very tiresome.
On top of that, we have one of the flats in the building empty. It belongs to what here they call "un fondo buitre" (an investment company vulture). They buy empty properties at low cost to inflate the prices. ("Legitimate" banks also do the same, so...) The thing is that squatters tend to target these kinds of flats, and we've had several attempts at entry. It's on the floor above us, on the other side of the building, so we don't usually hear or see anything, but the neighbours are quite worried and scared, and although the front door of the building has been reinforced now, they try to jump through the balcony. They are suggesting just walling in the balcony doors, but because the flat doesn't belong to us, the legal situation can be tricky. (On the other hand, they should be taking proper care of the place).
And thanks for the enquiries yesterday. Mostly, the demonstrations have been in the city centre so far (and mostly peaceful, but there are always some individuals who take advantage of them to cause damage, destroy stuff, and rob and burglarise shops). The worrying thing is that today there's a demonstration called here in the neighbourhood where we live. The stretch of street where we live isn't the most attractive to demonstrators or criminals in general (no shops and the bar downstairs is now closed, as it seems they couldn't keep up with the payments), although there is an avenue/walk very nearby, so it's anybody's guess how things might go. To tell you the truth, it's all really exhausting. We have enough problems as it is. I agree the laws are ridiculous (putting somebody in prison for badmouthing the king and the royal family? In the meantime, the father of the king, who's stolen money left right and centre, is hiding in Abu Dhabi, well, and half of the politicians are also corrupt), and the whole constitution in this country needs a good shake (there wasn't a clean break with the Franco regime, and past history has a way of not remaining buried for ever), but... I'll just shut up. Stay safe.
