Nik Nak’s Daily Teaser — 11-5-2023 — I Am The Assassin!

11th May, 2023: I Am The Assassin!

Hmmm …

Stuff may or may not be occurring!

Seriously!

Occurring is what stuff may be doing.

What stuff?

I don’t know.

What’s worrying me, mildly?

Is simply that I’ve had to set up a new playlist for my 11th May quizzes: as YouTube couldn’t find the original, when I was uploading today’s video.

Quite what happened, there?

I don’t know!

~≈👾≈~

Let’s move on, shall we?

Yesterday’s Teaser saw Mum*, Olga† and Debbi‡ putting in their answers: with everyone scoring six out of six.

Let’s see how everyone does with today’s questions, shall we?

Here they are, along with the How To, License and video.

Q1)        11th May saw the killing of Spencer Perceval.   In which year: 1811, 1812 or 1813?

Q2)        To date?   Perceval is the only British what to be assassinated: Prime Minister, Foreign Secretary or Chancellor? or

Q3)        Perceval held that post in the government of where: Great Britain, the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Ireland or the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland?

Q4)        Perceval was shot in the Lobby of where: Buckingham Palace, the House of Commons or the House of Lords?

Q5)        Perceval was killed by John Bellingham.   Bellingham was from where: Belfast, Manchester or Liverpool?
Here’s yesterday’s questions and answers …

A5)        The then Prince of Wales, King Charles 3rd.

Q6)        Finally … ?   The first director of what’s now the FBI was appointed on 10th May, 1924.   Who was that director?
A6)        J. Edgar Hoover.
Here’s a quote …
“After Perceval’s death, Parliament made generous provision to his widow and children and approved the erection of monuments.”
From the Wikipedia entry about Perceval’s death.
And a song …

Today’s questions will be answered in tomorrow’s Teaser.

Decisions about scores are final.

Thank you for coming: have a good day.

*        Hello, Mum!

It look like a good time was had by all, Olga: and I noticed at least one familiar face in there!
And yes: Diabetes Support groups can be very helpful: I’ve got Diabetes UK permanently bookmarked.   Although a few more recipe ideas could be useful: as a starting point, if nothing else!

‡        Did you manage to get another Mac, in the end, Debbi?   You should be able to import your files from your Time Machine back-up: there’s links on Apple’s site, here, and here.   I wouldn’t know where to start, transferring from Time Machine to a Windows machine!

Q1) 1812

Q3) the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Ireland

Q4) the House of Commons

Q5) Liverpool
My mother was also around, and my cousin, but you can't see their faces and it's difficult to point them out in the crowd. This morning we had the literary awards ceremony for the local schools. It was thankfully short and it was nice to see all the kids.
I hope Debbi manages to sort out the technological issues I guess she is having. And I hope things don't keep going missing for you. There seem to be a fair amount of updating going on all over the place, so it's impossible to know what is going one from one minute to the next.

Unfortunately, I'm running into problems beyond those addressed in the FAQs and online Apple support docs.

2. Prime Minister
3. the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland
4. the House of Commons
5. Liverpool

Dystonia is taking a toll on my left shoulder now. Lovely. :)
