Nik Nak’s Daily Teaser — 31-5-2023 — Clint Eastwood!

31st May, 2023: Clint.

It’s official: it’s Wednesday.

You knew that, you’ve got the date showing up on your phones, haven’t you?

At any rate: that means it’s the day after Tuesday.

Which means … ?

My nephew, Jude, saw made another video.

He’s had a go at making a disstrack: about Tommy Fury.

It’s a bit experiment … as;
  • It’s the first time he’s publicly shown off a (backing) track he’s made with GarageBand.
  • And he made the lyrics … with OpenAI’s ChatGPT!
Quite what people will make of it, I don’t know.

But, as of this morning?

It’s got more views than my recent video review: of  “The Apostate”, the recently caught opening episode of The Mandalorian series three.

I’m mildly jealous!

At any rate … ?

Would you mind subscribe to both our channels?

You can find Jude’s, here, and mine, here.

Every little helps!

Let’s move on, shall we?

Yesterday’s Teaser saw Mum*, Olga† and Debbi‡ putting in their answers: with Debbi scoring five out of five, and Mum and Olga on four.

Let’s see how everyone does with today’s questions, shall we?

Here they are, along with the How To, License and video.

Q1)        Clint Eastwood was born on 31st May.   31st May of which year: 1929, 1930 or 1931?

Q2)        He appeared in the Dollars Trilogy of films.   Name one of those films.

Q3)        Clint’s character in the films is known as the ‘man with no …’ what?

Q4)        Who directed Clint in those three films?

Q5)        Clint rose to prominence in which TV series: Gunsmoke, Rawhide, Deadwood or Wagon Train?

Q6)        Which 1971 film was the first directed by Clint: The Omega Man, Play Misty for Me or Shaft?

Q7)        1978 saw Clint appear in a film called Every Which Way but Loose: along side a character called Clyde.   Clyde — played by Manis — was a what: chimp, gorilla or orang-utan?

Q8)        Clint played first played Harry Callahan in which 1971 film?

Q9)        He played Walt Kowalski in a 2008 film named after a car.   Which film?

Q10)        Finally … ?   Clint directed, produced and scored a 2008 film that starred Angelina Jolie.   Which 2008 film with Angelina Jolie?
Here’s yesterday’s questions and answers …

Q1)        The US Territories of Kansas and Nebraska were created: on 30th May, 1854.   Kansas became a US state in which year of the 1860s?
A1)        1861.

Q2)        The US Territories of Kansas and Nebraska were created: on 30th May, 1854.   Nebraska became a US state in which year of the 1860s?
A2)        1867.

Q3)        30th May is the Feast of Saint Ferdinand 3rd. Ferdinand was a king of which kingdom: Castile, Aragon or Catalonia?
A3)        Castile.

Q4)        30th May, 1992, saw the birth of actress, Danielle Harold.   She played Lola Pearce in which British soap: Coronation Street, EastEnders or Hollyoaks?
A4)        EastEnders.

Q5)        Finally … ?   The 2023 World Series of Poker starts on 30th May, 2023.   What, according to Wikipedia is the highest ranking poker hand: five of a kind, a royal flush, a straight flush or a full house?
A5)        Five of a kind.   (You usually need to be playing a version that uses wild cards: four aces and a joker would count as five of a kind, assuming jokers were wild.   There’s also a bug: a specialised wild card that usually represents an ace.)
Here’s a thought …

“With that kind of money, I could have invaded some country.”
Clint Eastwood, speaking of the cost of making a film.

And some music …

Today’s questions will be answered in tomorrow’s Teaser.

Decisions about scores are final.

Thank you for coming: have a good day.

*        Hello, Mum!   (It was five of a kind!)

Yeah … the NHS is broken up into four organisations, isn’t it, Olga?   One for each home nation.   I’m assuming the Spanish equivalent would be the same: is that right … ?
It can be confusing, can’t it?   I worked with a woman from Glasgow, many years ago: and when she was excited?   Well … !

Nope: it’s the wild cards, Debbi.   The hand can crop up in any game were there’s a wild card!
Yeah, sorry about the questions: I couldn’t do the man justice with just five questions.   Oh, I’m pencilling in ten questions sets for 15th June and 7th July, about Arkansas and the NHS: but I’ll let you know for sure, once I’ve penned them.

Well, health is supposed to be managed by each Comunidad Autónoma (there are 17 in Spain, not only the historical ones, like Catalonia, the Basque Country and Galicia, but all the rest of the country is divided up as well)but there are things that are decided at a higher level, although yes, the hospitals, the salaries of health staff, etc, are not the same everywhere.
I've read books and watched movies featuring poker, but I can't say I understand it or have ever tried to play it.
