25th July, 2024.
Right, then … it’s Thursday.
But you’d possibly knew that!
Especially given that you’ve got a calendar, somewhere!
At any rate … ?
I managed to catch Outpost, last night: a film I last saw back in 2009.
It still looked as good as it did, back then.
Although it does get you wondering.
The thing stars the late Ray Stevenson*: and … ?
I’m sorely wishing he’d survived whatever it is that killed him, last year.
Given his performance in Outpost, Rome and Ahsoka, I’d’ve love to see him in more!

Oh … I’ve just had a phone call: from Elenor, at Microsoft, on 07564 531 783.
According to their records? And over the past couple of days?
There’s been errors coming from my computer.
She went silent, and put the phone down on me: when I asked why Microsoft, of all people, were phoning about errors coming from a Mac.
You have to laugh.
I know I almost did!

Let’s move on, shall we?
Yesterday’s Teaser saw Olga†, Mum‡ and Debbi§ putting in their answers: with Olga and Debbi scoring five out of five, and Mum on four.
Let’s see how everyone does with today’s questions, shall we?
Q1) 25th July saw record temperatures hit the UK. 25th July of which year: 2018, 2019 or 2020?Q2) 25th July is the UN sponsored World what Prevention Day: World Drowning Prevention Day, World Falling Prevention Day or World Rape Prevention Day?Q3) 25th July, 1978, saw the birth of Louise Brown. He’s the patron saint of who: travellers, chefs or builders?Q5) Finally … ? 25th July is Guanacaste Day. Where: Costa Rica, Puerto Rico or Jamaica?
Here’s yesterday’s questions and answers …

Here’s a thought …
“Our whole political machinery presupposes a people so fundamentally at one that they can safely afford to bicker.”Arthur Balfour, 25 July 1848 – 19 March 1930.
A song …
And an earworm …
Today’s questions will be answered in tomorrow’s Teaser.
Decisions about scores are final.
Thank you for coming: have a good day.
* To me? It sounded like Stevenson was using a fairly convincing north-eastern English accent for his role in Outpost: they are, I’m told, hard to imitate. It turns out that — according to his IMDb bio? — he was born in County Antrim, in Northern Ireland: but raised in Newcastle! That explains that.
† Appropriately, Olga¶? Christina the Astonishing is a patron saint of those with mental illnesses. And did you know Jerry Goldsmith got the only Oscar of his career for the soundtrack to The Omen? I still think the 2006 remake was the better made version of the story. But that the ’76 original has the superior soundtrack: and a far nastier Nanny!
Eight hours!? Ye gods! That’s a long trip! I don’t know how I’d’ve coped, there! but it sounds like you had something of a result. (I got the call about the tests, yesterday: the colonoscopy can go ahead.)
‡ Hello, Mum!
§ I’ve had shorter waits, Debbi! I can’t even blame the transport people: at least they and the receptionists kept me informed.
I still remember Warner in Star Trek 6: The Undiscovered Country: he was very regal, I felt. (“Guess who’s coming to dinner …”)
¶ I still think Billie Whitelaw put in one hell of a performance, Olga. Just as some pointless trivia for you? Gregory Peck’s grandson, Ethan, plays Spock in Star Trek: Strange New Worlds: he’s doing VERY well in the role.

Q1) 2019
Q2) World Drowning Prevention Day
Q3) test tube baby
Q4) travellers (My father used to have a silver pendant of St Christopher hanging from the car rearview mirror, but it was stolen. I’m not sure what that says about protection, although we never had any serious accident, and it says nothing about robberies, so…)
Q5) Costa Rica
I agree with you on the Omen and the acting (Gregory Peck could be hit and miss, depending on the role, and I'm not surprised about the oscar. There are things that can't be improved upon). I'm pleased to hear you can have the test. I hope it provides some answers.

3 Test tube baby
4 Travellers
5 Costa Rica
Man, it's been one of those days. But I'm hanging in there. Having a tough time typing.

It's hard to move my fingers and maintain proper hand position, with elbows tucked to my sides. I'm testing my limits here. :)
