Nik Nak’s Daily Teaser — 28-9-2024 — We Want Information

28th September, 2024: We Want Information … !

Right …

I’ve just taken a selfie: and uploaded bank statements.

Because … ?

I was politely asked to do so by the Department of Work and Pensions: and do so by 11th October.

Roughly a Fortnite from now.

Why they have?

I don’t know: but believe it’s connected to my recent PIP tribunal, and the verification process needed to be awarded any money.

The fact the relevant emails rolled in, late last night?

Meaning I didn’t see them until first thing this morning … ?

And that I couldn’t upload anything to the DWP’s website, until this morning, at the start of the weekend?

When the office is shut?

It’s doing neither my chest, nor my anxiety levels, a favour!

~≈❤️‍🩹≈~

To be fair, though … ?

I’ve just had another email.

This time, from His Majesty’s Court Service: to let me know I’ll get the letter informing me of the details by 5th October.

Next Saturday, in other words.

If nothing else … ?

That doesn’t necessarily give me much in the way of information.

But at least gives me an earliest date I can expect to see financial help start.

~≈🌴≈~

Let’s move on.

Yesterday’s Teaser saw Mum*, Olga† and Debbi‡ putting in their answers: with everyone scoring five out of five.

Let’s see how everyone does with today’s questions, shall we?

Here they are, along with the How To, License and video.

Q1)        28th September is the International Day for Universal Access to Information.   According to whom: the UN, the EU or the Confederate States of America?

Q2)        The scientific study of the quantification, storage, and communication of information is information what?

Q3)        The years since the invention of the transistor are known as the Information what: age, era or epoch?

Q4)        The UK’s Freedom of Information Act became law, when: 2000, 2002 or 2004?

Q5)        Finally … ?   Activist group, Hacktivismo, think access to information is a what: human right, scientific theory or retail service?
Here’s yesterday’s questions and answers …

Q1)        Michael Gambon died on 27th September, 2023.   He played Philip Marlow in which Dennis Potter series: Pennies from Heaven, The Singing Detective or Blackeyes?
A1)        The Singing Detective.

Q2)        Gambon played Dumbledore in the Harry Potter films: except in the first two films.   Who played Dumbledore in the first two films: Jude Law, Richard Harris or Keanu Reeves?
A2)        Richard Harris.

Q3)        Gambon played the Thief in The Cook, the Thief, His Wife & Her Lover. Who directed The Cook, the Thief, His Wife & Her Lover: Peter Greenaway, Lindsey Anderson or Derek Jarman … ?
A3)        Peter Greenaway.   I’ve never seen it: but have seen Prospero’s Books, Greenaway’s take on the Tempest. You really have to concentrate … !

Q4)        Gambon was born, where: London, Dublin, Belfast or Edinburgh?
A4)        Dublin.

Q5)        Finally … ?   Gambon played Baltus Van Tassel in the 1999 film, Sleepy Hollow.   Who directed Sleepy Hollow: Steven Spielberg, Tim Burton or George Lucas?
A5)        Tim Burton.
Here’s a thought …
“Information is an abstract concept that refers to something which has the power to inform.”
From the Wikipedia entry on information.
A song …

And a Gemma Chan advert …

Today’s questions will be answered in tomorrow’s Teaser.

Decisions about scores are final.

Thank you for coming: have a good day.

*        Hello, Mum!

The series was possibly Potter’s finest hour, Olga!
And, weirdly?   Both Maggie Smith and Clive Everton died, yesterday: a year to the day after Gambon.
Either way … ?   I’ve had more official communications: the court has emailed to say the letter will get to me by 5th October.   The DWP wanted various uploads by the 11th.   My anxiety levels really aren’t giving me a fun morning!
Ah, well … it sounds like you’ve got what you needed … !

Here’s hoping improvements can be made, Debbi!

Q1) the UN

Q2) Theory

Q3) age

Q4) 2000

Q5) human right (Is it a specific group? I can only find the definition, in Spanish, as it is the Spanish form of hacktivism, but not any mention of a specific group, but, anyway…)
Well, good to have more information, and if you've sent what they ask you and keep it handy on your computer, you have evidence that it's gone, which is the main thing in these cases. It all sounds promising, and I'll keep my fingers crossed, because it never does any harm.
Yes. It's a newer model, so I'm trying to get used to it, although it is not that different, and at least it has some room for updates of software according to Amazon. I get the feeling it hasn't been used much, because the battery seems in good nick. And this one offers the option of increasing the memory with a card (although the basic memory is like my old one, and in 12 years I never needed to increase it, so... Nice to have, but probably not needed for while. E-books don't take a lot of memory space, thankfully.

I remain hopeful that they will.

Good luck with your situation. Very frustrating. I certainly understand that.
