11th December, 2021.
How the hell does a living human brain manage that … ?
Wake up in the morning, convinced — utterly — today’s Sunday …
And only realising it’s Saturday when the Today programme — rather than the Sunday Service — started, I realised what was going on.
Like I say … how does a human brain do that … ?
~≈🧠≈~
I mentioned, yesterday, that I’d had a minor issue: with my clock not announcing the time.
And how it was seemingly — seemingly — solved by resetting the PRAM.
Oh no, it hasn’t!
Back to Apple it is: we’ll have to see if the proposed reinstall works.
~≈🖥≈~
As a final thought … ?
I’ve had a copy of the blu-ray version of The Evil of the Daleks sitting around for a while: and managed to catch the first episode, last night.
You’d be welcome to leave me a comment: either on the post, or on the video.
Thanking you!
Let’s move on, shall we?
Yesterday’s Teaser saw Mum*, Olga† and Debbi‡ putting in their answers: with everyone scoring five out of five.
Let’s see how everyone does with today’s questions, shall we?
Q1) The United Nations International Children's Emergency Fund was established: on 11th December. It’s usually called what: UNICEF, UNIT or UNESCO?Q2) It was established in which year of the 1940s?Q3) It was called the United Nations International Children's Emergency Fund. It’s now called what: the United Nations Children’s Fund, the United Nations Children’s Welfare Fund or the United Nations Children’s Emergency Fund?Q4) The Fund is headquartered where: New York, Paris, London or Munich?Q5) Finally … ? The Fund immunised 65.5 million children in 2018: with pentavalent vaccines. Pentavalent vaccines are how many vaccines rolled into one: three, four or five?
Here’s yesterday’s questions and answers …
Q1) 10th December saw Edward 8th sign the instrument of Abdication as King of where: the UK, Great Britain or Southern Ireland?A1) The United Kingdom.Q2) He also abdicated as Emperor of where: China, India or Greece?A2) India.Q3) He signed the Instrument on 10th December of which year of the 1930s?A3) 1936.Q4) He abdicated because he wanted to marry whom: Wallis Simpson, Marge Simpson or Bart Simpson?A4) Wallis Simpson.Q5) Finally … ? Edward 8th was replaced on the throne, by his brother, Albert. Albert took the throne as what: George 4th, Henry 5th or George 6th?A5) George 6th. (George 6th is the late father of the current Queen: and the central character of the film, The King’s Speech.)
Here’s a thought …
“The agency is among the most widespread and recognizable social welfare organizations in the world, with a presence in 192 countries and territories.”From the Wikipedia entry on the Fund.
And a song …
The last time I covered the Abdication was on 11th December, 2013. If I’ve got my history correct? 10th December is when Edward signed the paperwork to say he was abdicating in favour of his brother. The 11th, the day after, was when the Instrument went into effect.
Today’s questions will be answered in tomorrow’s Teaser.
The quizmaster’s decisions about scores are final.
Thank you for coming: have a good day.
* Hello, Mum!
† Yep: Debbi’s at her usual chirpy self, Olga. It sounds like she’ll be fine.
And, yes: the idea of offsite training can be a git, can’t it? Now … why am I convinced Rampton’s near me? Oh, hang on … I’m thinking of Runwell aren’t I? That’s in Essex. I don’t think it was a high security place, but had the impression it could be quite strict.
Oh, and don’t get me started on the fix! I’m going to have to do the PRAM fix, again! And parking cars … ? It’s the same here: Damon House has — effectively — eight parking spaces for twelve flats: and those assume the car being parked is one build ten years ago, when the average size was smaller.
‡ Oh, it’s fantastic, Debbi! Helena Bonham Carter was very well cast, I thought. Although, whenever I think of the Queen Mother, I think of the Spitting Image version.

Sorry about the fix. I've never used anything similar, although I remember when I was working for the translation agency I did use an App of some sort that kept the time, although I can't remember if it also spoke it... I am sure you must have looked into other options already.
In theory (fingers crossed) somebody else interested in the parking space should be coming to have a look a bit later today. We shall see. I have to cover a Christmas-related activity for kids this afternoon for the radio, so I hope she isn't late.
