Nik Nak’s Daily Teaser — 8th December, 2018.

8th December, 2018.

Yep: it’s officially getting dark outside.

A result, obviously, of the clocks going back a few weeks ago.

Personally … ?

I know this will possibly sound odd, but I kind of like it when it’s both cool, and dark in the morning.

Call me romantic … !

Oh, just so everyone knows … ?

The notorious O2 outage is now, officially, over.

Thankfully …

All that’s needed now?

Is some form of explanation.   Apparently, the hardware that went down, did so because a security certificate — the document that verifies a given site, or piece of kit, is who or what it says it is — had expired.

They’d gone past their sell by dates, in other words.

Nice to know someone’s on the ball.

All I have to do, now?

Is wait for the compensation to turn up.

Let’s move on, shall we?

Yesterday’s Teaser saw Olga* and Debbi† putting in their answers: with both scoring five out of five.

Let’s see how everyone does with today’s questions, shall we?

Here they are, along with the How To, License and video

Q1) Which of Beethoven’s Symphonies debuted on 8th December, 1813?
Q2) Japan’s IKAROS spacecraft passed Venus: on 8th December, 2010.   The craft was powered by what: a nuclear generator, solar sails or coal?
Q3) President Franklin D. Roosevelt made a speech on 8th December, 1941: describing the day before — 7th December — as a day that will live in … what?
Q4) The House of Lords voted on 8th December, 1983.   To allow what into the House: women, TV cameras or cleaners?
Q5) A noted heavy metal band performed in Antartica on 8th December, 2013: becoming the first band of any kind to have played on all seven continents.   Which heavy metal band … ?
Here’s yesterday’s questions and answers …

Q1) Bassist, Greg Lake, died on 7th December, 2016.   What was the name of his 1975 Christmas hit?
A1) I Believe in Father Christmas.
Q2) The first US state to ratify the US constitution, did so on 7th December, 1787.   Which state was it … ?
A2) Delaware.
Q3) 7th December, 1995, saw the Galileo spacecraft arrive at its destination.   Which planet was that … ?
A3) Jupiter.
Q4) 7th December, 1732, saw what open in Covent Garden?
Q5) Finally … 7th December, 1989, saw the birth of American sportsman, Kyle Hendricks.   What sport does he play: rugby union, golf or baseball?
A5) Baseball.
Here’s a thought …
“Don’t worry, the operation won’t take long and you’ll feel much better in the morning.”
Jim Morrison, December 8, 1943 – July 3, 1971.
And one of my favourite Doors‡ tunes …

Today’s questions will be answered in tomorrow’s Teaser.

Have a good day.

*        I can’t believe I missed the message you sent, Olga!   I’m usually the first person to watch out for stuff like that!   And I know what you mean about childhood illness.   Mind you, Jude’s always seemed to be disgusting healthy!   Yeah: Ericsson have been involved in the phone business for a while: I had one of their 628’s, many moons ago: good little phone although it’s not as powerful as my old Sony.   Technology, eh?   (Yep, the Chief Financial Officer’s been arrested: in Canada.   Seemingly, the US want to extradite her.   Shame: given the outage, yesterday, O2 should maybe hire her!)

†        Yea: we have found a wandering Olga, Debbi.   We can possibly found a New Religious Movement on the back of that … !   At any rate … ?   Glad you like the song!   I just had to go with The Wasp‡, today: it’s possibly one of my favourite Doors tunes … !

‡        It’s possibly one of the most menacing tunes going … !

I hope your aunt gets better soon, Paul. It's a difficult time of the year for the elderly, that's for sure. All the best.
