Nik Nak’s Daily Teaser — 6-10-2019: Instagram

6th October, 2019.

Right, I’m expecting.

A book, before you ask!

It’s seems the copy of The Hellbound Heart I ordered, has now been despatched.

All to the good.

The rest of the stuff I’ve ordered … ?

Is still sitting around in an Amazon Fulfilment Centre, somewhere.

~≈§≈~

I have to admit, the fourth season of Mr Robot starts airing, today.

Frankly?

I’m looking forward to seeing that.

I’m also looking forward to something else.

Star Trek: Picard.

Well, it’s officially official.

It’s getting released on Amazon Prime on 24th, January, next year.

And on US platforms, a day earlier.

It’s nice to see a few old characters turning up, I know that: Deanna Troi (Marina Sirtis), Will Riker (Jonathon Frakes) and Seven of Nine (Jerri Ryan) all getting a look in.

But?

I’m frustrated.

The release date’s three whole bloody months away!

~≈§≈~

Let’s move on, shall we?

Yesterday’s Teaser saw Badwolf*, Olga† and Debbi‡ putting in their answers: with all three scoring ten out of ten.

Let’s see how everyone does with today’s questions, shall we?

Here they are, along with the How To, License and video …

Q1) 6th October saw the founding of Instagram.   In which year?
Q2) What do you share with Instagram: photos, puppies or songs?
Q3) Who is Instagram’s owner: Twitter, Facebook or Myspace?
Q4) Instagram was originally only released for what: iPhones, Android phones or Windows phones?
Q5) Finally?   As of early 2019, the most liked picture on Instagram is of a what?
Here’s yesterday’s questions and answers …

Q1) 5th October saw the birth of writer, Clive Barker.   In which year?
A1) 1952.
Q2) What English city was he born in?
A2) Liverpool.
Q3) Who said “I have seen the future of horror and his name is Clive Barker.”?
Q4) Barker’s six volume short story collection are the Books ofwhat?
A4) The Books of Blood.
Q5) The Midnight Meat Train is in the first volume of that collection.   The film version of The Midnight Meat Train stars who, as Mahogany?
Q6) Volume five features a story called The Forbidden.   The Forbidden was turned into which film?
A6) Candyman.   (It seems a remake is planned for 2020.   Quite how it’s going to compare, I don’t know …)
Q7) Barker wrote the script for a 1986 film version of one of his short stories: a film he later disowned.   Which film was it?
Q8) Barker’s The Hellbound Heart was famously filmed as Hellraiser.   Who directed Hellraiser?
A8) Writer, director, screenwriter, illustrator and playwright, Clive Barker.   (He’s a Renaissance Man.)
Q9) What was Clive Barker’s first novel?
Q10) Finally … ?  Cal Mooney, Suzanna Parish, Immacolata and the Scourge, all feature in which Barker novel?
A10) Weaveworld.   (Like Dune, or the complete works of Terry Pratchett?   Weaveworld is one of those books that’s been on my shelves for years: the prose is simply gorgeous.)
Here’s a thought …
“Instagram might have taken inspiration from Snapchat, but Systrom claims that there was no copying involved.”
And a video …

Today’s questions will be answered in tomorrow’s Teaser.

Have a good day.

*        Glad you liked it, Anne!   Just so you know, I usually try and do Halloween quizzes.   I’ve not written this year’s, yet: I might do a Brexit quiz, as that’s when we’re due to leave.   Dratted thing!

†        Morning, Olga.   How’s the legs?

‡        Romantic Hitchcock, Debbi?   You know, that possibly means there’s blondes involved!   Or possibly muses … !

Legs are not terribly happy, but managed another 20 km today (a beautiful walk, I must add). If you complete three of these international walks you get a Masters... So I got my first sticker, a medal, and a diploma. Yes, and sore legs as well...
I hadn't heard about the Picard movie...

Well, it's more that the male co-protagonist is kind of like Cary Grant in To Catch a Thief. He's a reformed (maybe) jewel thief. And he's engaged to a journalist, but I'm not sure she's blonde. :) But I know what you mean. Hitchcock did have a thing for blondes.

1. 2010
2. photos (although you can post videos, making one capable of posting songs--to be technical about it)
3. Facebook
4. iPhones
5. an egg
