Nik Nak’s Daily Teaser — 25-12-2021: Christmas Day

25th December, 2021.

Right …

I am officially wishing you all a very Happy Christmas!

And hoping it goes well for you!

Personally … ?

I’m going to have dinner with my family.

I just hope the presents go down well.

~≈🎄≈~

Let’s move on, shall we?

Yesterday’s Teaser saw Mum*, Olga† and Debbi‡ putting in their answers: with everyone scoring five out of five.

Let’s see how everyone does with today’s questions, shall we?

Here they are, along with the How To, License and video …

Q1)        25th December is Christmas Day.   It marks the birth of Jesus: in Bethlehem, in what’s now the West Bank.   The town was in which Roman province, at the time of Jesus’s birth: Judea, Moesia or Germania Antiqua?

Q2)        Bethlehem’s name means ‘house of’ what, in Hebrew: bread, milk or cheese?

Q3)        The Nativity story is told in two of the four Gospels.   Name one of the two.

Q4)        In the UK, many of us will be eating what, on Christmas Day: chicken, turkey or goose?

Q5)        Finally … ?   1843, saw Sir Henry Cole produce the earliest Christmas whats: cards, crackers or decorations?
Here’s yesterday’s questions and answers …

Q1)        24th December is Christmas Eve.   Christmas is a major celebration in which religion: Christianity, Islam or Judaism?
A1)        Christianity.

Q2)        At midnight, many will be attending a Midnight what: mass, major or mystic?
A2)        Midnight Mass.

Q3)        Many will be lighting the last candle, on Christmas Eve: on an Advent what?
A3)        An Advent wreath.

Q4)        The Wigilia is a traditional Christmas Eve meal, where: Germany, Poland or Russia?
A4)        Poland.

Q5)        Finally … ?   The Christmas Truce started on 24th December of which year of World War One?
A5)        1914.
Here’s a wish …
“Happy Christmas!”
And a song …

Today’s questions will be answered in tomorrow’s Teaser.

The quizmaster’s decisions about scores are final.

Thank you for coming: have a good day.

*        The shopping wasn’t too bad, Olga.   OK, granted, there’s something I forgot, but at least I managed to get a haircut!   So that’s something.
An alien that keeps changing face … ?   Naaaaah … it’s a bit implausible.   On a more serious note … ?   In No Time to Die, Lashana Lynch plays 007.   And does rather well.   (I think Cavill would be perfect.   He does a sympathetic Sherlock Holmes, as well.   How he’d do Bond, I don’t know.   I could see him as the 14th Doctor: but I don’t think the BBC could afford him, as The Witcher’s got a very good budget.)
        Happy Christmas!

        See you later, Mum!

‡        It’s a VERY good film, Debbi: certainly on a par with Casino Royale.   But if you haven’t guessed who Lashana Lynch is playing, by now?   Well!

Now that you mention it, I think I had heard about that detail of the movie (perhaps they should go that way). There had been a lot of talk about Idris Elba, but it doesn't seem to be quite so high up now. Here they have some thoughts on it...

I really like Thomas Hardy, but I'm not sure about him for the part (he could do it, but I wouldn't if I were him. He seems to like to play very different parts, and that wouldn't work here).
I hope you have a good day today. We are going to my cousin's tomorrow (well, to a restaurant), but just my mother and me today, although we'll go out for a walk, probably to the promenade or the city centre. Have fun!
