Nik Nak’s Daily Teaser — 23rd January 2024.

23rd January, 2024.

Yay!

It’s Tuesday!

Which, basically means it’s Tuesday!

Oh … and pay day, as well.

That’s a good thing.

Getting the bills paid, and putting food in the fridge … ?

Is generally a good idea.

Let’s move on, shall we?

Yesterday’s Teaser saw Olga*, Mum† and Debbi‡ putting in their answers: with everyone scoring five out of five.

Let’s see how everyone does with today’s questions, shall we?

Here they are, along with the How To, License and video.

Q1)        A coup was launched on 23rd January, 2022.   Where: Burkina Faso, Cape Verde or Djibouti?

Q2)        President Nixon appeared on TV: on 23rd January, 1973.   To announce what: his resignation, a Vietnam War peace deal, or the collapse of the US dollar?

Q3)        23rd January is World Freedom Day.   In South Korea … and where else: Thailand, Taiwan or Saudi Arabia?

Q4)        23rd January is the Feast Day of Saint Marianne of Moloka’i.   Where is Moloka’i: Hawaii, Michigan or Alaska?

Q5)        Finally … ?   Milton Keynes was founded on 23rd January.   In which years of the 1960s?

Here’s yesterday’s questions and answers …

Q1)        Apple introduced its Macintosh line of computers: on 22nd January of which year of the 1980s?
A1)        1984.   (The computer was introduced on the 22nd.   The first ones went on retail sale on the 24th January: hence the date in the advert.)

Q2)        That original Mac had how much RAM: 128k, 256k or 512k?
A2)        128k.

Q3)        RAM stands for Random Access what?
A3)        Memory.   RAM is the short-term storage your computer uses: for stuff it’s currently doing.

Q4)        The modern Macintosh has an operating system: software that lets you use your computer.    What’s the Mac’s operating system called: macOS, Ubuntu or Windows 11?
A4)        macOS.

Q5)        Finally … ?   The Mac was named after a what: apple, banana or Kiwi?
A5)        Apple.

Here’s a thought …
“From a producer’s point of view, an actor is either going to make him money or save him money.”
Ewen Bremner, born 23 January 1972.
And a song …

Today’s questions will be answered in tomorrow’s Teaser.

Decisions about scores are final.

Thank you for coming: have a good day.

*        Yeah: alcohol issues seem to go with the Barrymore name, Olga.
The weight management meeting went well enough: I’m down a few grams!   Can you remind me to get bran flakes, please, Olga, they may help!

        Hello, Mum!

        It’s certainly that, Debbi!
Totally off thread?   You know the Girl in the original Super Bowl ad was a model called Anya Major?   She crops up in the video for “Nikita”, about 18 months later.   (If I remember the rumour, correctly?   The real Nikita was supposed to be a Russian border guard Elton had a fling with, back in the day.)
