Nik Nak’s Daily Teaser — 24th January 2024.

24th January, 2024.

It’s officially official: it’s Wednesday.

And … ?

Frankly, I’ve got just enough cash to have a haircut!

It’s something I’ve been joking about with my nephew, Jude, for some time!

We’re both looking a bit shaggy!

Which reminds me!

Jude’s put a new video up!

As he was over last night!

Feel free to hit the like button!

Let’s move on, shall we?

Yesterday’s Teaser saw Olga*, Mum† and Debbi‡ putting in their answers: with Olga and Debbi scoring five out of five, and Mum on four.

Let’s see how everyone does with today’s questions, shall we?

Here they are, along with the How To, License and video.

Q1)        Which serial killer was executed on 24th January, 1989: Colin Ireland, Peter Sutcliffe or Ted Bundy?

Q2)        According to the UN, 24th January is the International Day of what: Education, Clean Energy or Braille?

Q3)        Uttar Pradesh Day is marked on 24th January.   Where is Uttar Pradesh: China, India or Brazil?

Q5)        Finally … ?   Marilyn Monroe divorced her third husband: on 24th January, 1961.   Who was her third husband?

Here’s yesterday’s questions and answers …

Q1)        A coup was launched on 23rd January, 2022.   Where: Burkina Faso, Cape Verde or Djibouti?
A1)        Burkina Faso.

Q2)        President Nixon appeared on TV: on 23rd January, 1973.   To announce what: his resignation, a Vietnam War peace deal, or the collapse of the US dollar?
A2)        A Vietnam War Peace Deal.

Here’s a thought …
“Democracy is not something we have, it’s something we do.”
Doris Haddock§, January 24, 1910 – March 9, 2010.
And some music …

Today’s questions will be answered in tomorrow’s Teaser.

Decisions about scores are final.

Thank you for coming: have a good day.

*        Cheers, Olga: I managed to get some of Sainsbury’s Fruit and Fibre.   That’s one of my five-a-day, done!

        Hello, Mum!

There is?   I’ll have to keep my eyes open, Debbi!
Talking about Macs, again … ?   Radio 4’s Today programme had a thing about the launch of the Mac, today: at about the two and a half hour mark.   The piece they played, the Steve Jobs piece?   Was from a 1984 conference.   But he introduced it at a 1983 conference!   You know, the BBC used to do research!

§        (I couldn’t ignore someone called ‘Haddock’. It’s like being a pub quiz master … and ignoring Emerson Boozer.   There’s also a politician called Young Boozer.   Who’d have PR problems in the UK.)

Q1) Ted Bundy

Q2) Education

Q3) India

Q4) False (21st of December, or so it says).

Q5) Finally … ? Marilyn Monroe divorced her third husband: on 24th January, 1961. Who was her third husband? Arthur Miller. I studied Arthur Miller’s plays at university, and he wrote one with a character based on Marilyn, After the Fall.
It isn’t his best (by far), but it is interesting.
I hope you are happy with the haircut.
