Nik Nak’s Daily Teaser — 29th May, 2024.

29th May, 2024.

Right … it’s now Wednesday!

Which means … ?

Well: it means I was looking after my nephew, last night.

He’s fine.

But?

Bobby the Cat spent a good ten minutes licking my ears.

That cat’s a funny fella!

Let’s move on, shall we?

Yesterday’s Teaser saw Mum*, Olga† and Debbi‡ putting in their answers: with Debbi scoring five out of five, Olga on four, and Mum on three and a half.

The day also saw Carly§ putting her answers, here: and scoring four in the process.

Let’s see how everyone does with today’s questions, shall we?

Here they are, along with the How To, License and video.

Q1)        29th May is the International Day of UN … what: organisations, peacekeepers or scientists?

Q2)        29th May is the feast day of Saint Bona of Pisa.   She’s a patron saint of whom: snooker players, flight attendants or shepherds?

Q3)        Tan Zhongyi was born on 29th May, 1991.   She’s a champion what: backgammon player, chess player or Go player?

Q4)        Riley Keough was born: on 29th May, 1989.   She played Anne, in which 2012 film: Magic Mike, Yellow or Kiss of the Damned?

Q5)        Finally … ?   Rhode Island joined the USA on 29th May.   Of which year of the 1790s?
Here’s yesterday’s questions and answers …

Q1)        28th May, 2024, sees the start of the 2024 World Series of Poker.   It’s being held just outside which Nevadan city?
A1)        Las Vegas: it’s being held in Paradise.

Q2)        How many events are scheduled for the tournament: 97, 98 or 99?
A2)        Ninety-nine.

Q3)        The events are being held in two venues: the Horseshoe and the Paris.   The pair are what: Casino-hotels, brothels or football arenas?
A3)        Casino-hotels.

Q4)        The highest non-cash prize you can win at the tournament, is a what: stetson, bracelet or chicken dinner?
A4)        A Bracelet.   (Croupiers in some casinos are said to use the phrase “Winner, winner, chicken dinner”, when a patron wins.)

Q5)        Finally … ?   And according to Wikipedia?   What’s the theoretical highest poker hand: an ace-high royal flush, a king-high straight or five of a kind.
A5)        Five of a kind.   (It’s theoretical: as you need to be playing a version that includes wild cards.)
Here’s a thought …
“I think acting is a fun thing because you get to have so many lifetimes in one lifetime, being all these different people.”
Riley Keough, born 29th May, 1989.
A song …

And an earworm …

Today’s questions will be answered in tomorrow’s Teaser.

Decisions about scores are final.

Thank you for coming: have a good day.

*        Hello, Mum!

Yeah: delaying the holiday would be good, Olga.   For no other reason than to recover from the operation!
And yes: it always strikes me there’s something to do at these things.   At least, At The better organised ones.   The Christmas ones in Brentwood High Street can vary.   They had a giant robot, a dancing mecha type of thing, a couple of years: they’re rather eye catching.

‡        I joined 6o1, at one point, Debbi: I don’t know that they’re still around.   Oh, hang on: they are, it seems.   Although I think there was some sort of scandal, a few years ago.
        Ahhh … here …

§        Well done, Carly: four out of five.   Although, if you could put them on the blog, next time … ?   👍   Cheers!

5. 1790 (and they were the first)

I'll have to think about The Prisoner. Possibly. Or Doctor Who. Or both. :)
