The Daily Teaser — 2-10-2015

Right …

It’s Payday … !

Which, of course, means that I’m due to pay bills — obviously — and go shopping.

Online and offline, I should say.

Personally … ?   I’m incredibly impatient: and very determined to see the cable I’d ordered last week, turn up.

I’ve half a mind to order another.

But on the other hand … ?   I might JUST wait for it.

After all, there’s a few other bits I’d like to get.

I mean … new shoes would be good …

~≈Ê≈~

But let’s get moving on, shall we?

Yesterday’s Teaser saw Debbi* putting in her answers: scoring five out of five in the process.

Let’s see how everyone does with today’s questions, shall we?

Here they are, along with the How To, License and video …

Q1) 2nd October, 1890, saw the birth of which of the Marx brothers: Groucho, Harpo, Chico or Karl?
Q2) 2nd October, 1968, saw Sheila Thorns give birth to the first recorded live what, in the UK: quads, sextuplets or puppies?
Q3) 2nd October is Gandhi Jayanti.   Gandhi Jayanti is a major public holiday: in which country?
Q4) 2nd October, 1959, saw the debut of The Twilight Zone.   The film version was released in which years of the 1980s?
Q5) Finally … Guinea became independent from France: on 2nd October, 1958.   Guinea is on which continent?
Here’s yesterday’s questions and answers …
Q1) 1st October, 1918, saw Arab forces capture the Syrian city of Damascus.   Which British soldier was heavily involved with the city’s fall?
Q2) October 1 is an African made, 2014 thriller, directed by Kunle Afolayan.   It was made and set in which African country?
A2) Nigeria.
Q3) Muhammad Ali won the Thrilla in Manila: on 1st October, 1975.   Who did Ali fight, in that match?
Q4) In the run-up to World War 2, 1st October, 1938 saw Nazi Germany annex the Sudetenland.   The Sudetenland was the German speaking part of which (then) country?
Q5) Finally … The UK’s Supreme Court started work: on 1st October, 2009.   Up until then, its judicial functions had been performed by whom: the Queen, the House of Lords or the House of Commons?
A5) The House of Lords.
I’ll leave you with this thought …
“I don’t understand American football at all.   It looks like all-in wrestling with crash helmets.”

Sting, born 2 October 1951.
And this tune …

Have a good day … !

*        It’s always nice to see a good speaker, isn’t it, Debbi† … ?   :D

†        What on EARTH’S going on in Portland, Debbi‡?   Didn’t know if you saw this, but I’m sort of with President Obama: the USA really DOES need to sort out its gun laws.

‡        There’s an upside to the day’s news, Debbi: looks like there’s going to be a new spin-off …

I know! Our country needs gun control.

And isn't it a bit ironic about a teen Doctor Who? Wasn't it originally supposed to be a kids' show? Or am I wrong? :)

1. Groucho
2. sextuplets
3. India
4. 1983
5. Africa

In any case, I'll probably watch the spin off, too. Just to keep up what's new, you know? :)
