*        It’s always the way, I think, Olga: the more things change, the more things stay the same!   I’m wondering what people will be doing, a century from now: assuming there’s another big pandemic.

Hang on … it’s parallel to the Equator?   You wouldn’t get a street like it in the West End, I know that!   Did I ever mention I was an usher at the Dominion, many years ago?   Back when it was showing Barnum?   We had to wear clown makeup, from what I remember!   Lord knows why people were telling me I looked like Jack Nicholson!

At ANY rate, I can appreciate using the phones will be confusing.   But look at it this way, Mum managed to do the updates that were causing issues: and she’s about the same age you are.

JUST so you know, though?   You should have a phone icon, somewhere: usually on the dock at the bottom.   You can press that to enter The number you want to call, OR to pick a contact you want to phone or message.   You can ALSO hit the Message icon, if you just want to send a text.   You should, if you can GET to Terminal, be able to do all sorts: you’re using Android, a version of Linux, which is based on Unix.   If you can get to a terminal on there, you should be able to make it jump through hoops …

Oh, Mum mentioned she’d got things wrong, when I went for dinner.

ª        Oh, cheers, Edithº!   That’s a lovely tune for first thing in the morning!   Did you know George Formby — he’s from way back — played a banjolele?   It was a ukulele modelled on a banjo … 

º         Actually, Edith, do you remember a Dr Who episode called Mummy on the Orient Express?   Frank Skinner, who plays Perkins, is a fan of Formby’s, and plays the Ukulele, himself.
