Nik Nak’s Daily Teaser — 20th December 2022.

20th December, 2022.

Yep: it’s officially official.

I’m up, early.

Because?

I’ve got my nephew, Jude, over, today: comparatively early.

I have a sneaking suspicion videos will be made!

I was never a huge one for the British Ska revival of the 1980s.

That’s not to say it produced bad music: that it didn’t.

At the front of the pack … ?

Were a Coventry based band called The Specials: who produced quite a few hits.

Sadly?

Specials front man, Terry Hall, died yesterday, at the age of 63: after ‘a short disease.’

He’s going to be missed.

Let’s move on, shall we?

Yesterday’s Teaser saw Olga*, Mum† and Debbi‡ putting in their answers: with everyone scoring five out of five.

Let’s see how everyone does with today’s questions, shall we?

Here they are, along with the How To, License and video.

Q1)        The Portrait Of Suzanne Bloch was stolen from a Brazilian art gallery: on 20th December, 2007.   Who painted Portrait Of Suzanne Bloch: Salvador Dalí, Diego Velázquez or Pablo Picasso?

Q2)        Macau — now a Special Autonomous Region — was handed back to China on 20th December, 1999.   By which country: the UK, Portugal or Italy?

Q3)        20th December, 1996, saw the US release of Scream: the first in a series of horror films.   Who directed that first film: Wes Craven, James Cameron or Ridley Scott … ?

Q4)        The first new branch of the US Armed Forces since 1947, came into being on 20th December, 2019.   What was that branch?

Q5)        Finally … ?   20th December, 1937, saw the death of Erich Ludendorff.   During World War One, he’d been a general in which country’s army: Germany’s, Italy’s or Austria-Hungary’s?
Here’s yesterday’s questions and answers …

Q1)        19th December saw the US release of Titanic.   In which year of the 1990s?
A1)        1997.

Q2)        Who directed the film: James Cameron, Michael Spicer or Jules-Jacques Renault?
A2)        James Cameron.

Q3)        Leonardo DiCaprio played Jack.   Who plays Rose: Kate Winslet, Kate Beckinsale or Billie Piper.
A3)        Kate Winslet.

Q4)        The ship, itself, was the RMS Titanic.   RMS stands for Royal what ship: Mail, Mandible or Mascara?
A4)        Royal Mail Ship.

Q5)        Finally … ?   Kathy Bates played Margaret Brown: one of the real worlds survivors of the sinking.   The woman was known as Unsinkable who?
A5)        Unsinkable Molly Brown: or just Unsinkable Molly.   Famously?   She persuaded the man in charge of Lifeboat No.6 to look for other survivors, before fleeing the area.
Here’s a thought …
“The reason television is free is because it is a life support system for commercials.   That fundamental aspect is about to change.”
Dick Wolf, born December 20, 1946.
And a song …

Today’s questions will be answered in tomorrow’s Teaser.

Decisions about scores are final.

Thank you for coming: have a good day.

*        Phew!   I got there, dry, Olga.   Although, as it turns out … ?   My case worker was off ill!   Which is a shame: I got him a Christmas card!
Ans I know what you mean about recording stuff: the amount of re-takes I do — I flub a line, or my voice is croaky! — is mind boggling.   And that’s just for the video versions of the Teasers.   The re-takes and edits for last night’s video review were something else.
Talking of dodging TV cameras?   Did I mention a series called The Only Way is Essex?   It’s filmed in Brentwood.   Although, thankfully?   Not often, recently!

        Hello, Mum!

You mean Behold the Man?   It would cause a stink.   It’s a great idea, Debbi!   (Debbie Reynolds played Unsinkable Molly?   Good lord!)
At any rate … ?   Did I mention The Amazing Maurice?   Emilia Clarke is perfect casting … !

Q3) Wes Craven

Q4) The United States Space Force

Sorry about your worker, but at least you got there OK. I will see what the editing this afternoon will be like, because trying to fit all that material in could be "challenging". I had a class with Jordi this morning, and the next one won't be until the 10th of January, but thankfully, my voice survived.
Enjoy the video-making session! (I never watched the series, although I've heard about it)!
