Nik Nak’s Daily Teaser — 17th November 2023.

17th November, 2023.

Right … I’m officially off to hospital.

For an official scan!

In — ha! — Basildon Hospital.

Hopefully, the buses won’t be too bad.

Governments … governments, governments …

The current UK government?   Is possibly no worse — and no better — than any other.

And?   With an election due next year, at the latest?

Seems to be keen to look tough.

A recent news piece tells us that the government are planning cuts to the welfare system, to try to save money.

Or, at least, cuts to the various sickness benefits that I — amongst others — are applying for.

Which is worrying!

Another piece?

Tells us the Government is planning to introduce tougher sanctions for those of us who refuse work.

Which isn’t worrying.

It’s no more than an update of something the government already does.

The piece also tells us the government “… will also put additional staff in job centres to help claimants struggling to find work.”

Which isn’t news to me.

It’s something I’ve been aware of for at least a year!

Let’s move on, shall we?

Yesterday’s Teaser saw Mum* and Debbi† putting in their answers: with Debbi scoring five out of five, and Mum scoring three.

The day also saw Olga‡ and Debbi leaving us a message.

Here they are, along with the How To, License and video.

And a song …

Today’s questions will be answered in tomorrow’s Teaser.

Decisions about scores are final.

Thank you for coming: have a good day.

*        Hello, Mum!

†        Glad I could help, Debbi!   And I’ll look forward to the review!   (There’s a thing on Channel Five about Dr Who: on the 25th November.   I’ll probably watch it on Catch-up)

Thanks, Paul. Let's say it's been a week with a lot of things going on, and many of them totally unplanned. Yesterday evening I was covering the showing of a documentary for the radio. A second cousin was presenting his documentary, and I hadn't seen him for quite a long time, so it was a good way to mix family and work. And it was pretty good. I'll let you know when it's available (as they expect it to be on several streaming platforms), that should hopefully be next year.
I hope you got to the hospital OK, and fingers crossed whatever the government does it doesn't affect you (or anybody who needs it) too much.
