Nik Nak’s Daily Teaser — 30th November 2023

30th November, 2023.

Right … it’s now Thursday …

So … ?

That means it’s looking cold outside.

I had a look out of my window, when I got up, this morning.

There was definite frost: and a certain amount of fog.

Which will make posting Christmas cards something I’ll have to be quick about.

Especially today: as I have an NHS phone appointment.

It’s one I’m slightly nervous about: especially if the results are any kind of positive.

I’ll try and let you know more, when I get them.

~≈Ω≈~

Let’s move on, shall we?

Yesterday’s Teaser saw Mum*, Olga† and Debbi‡ putting in their answers: with Olga and Debbi scoring five out of five, and Mum on three.

Let’s see how everyone does with today’s questions, shall we?

Here they are, along with the How To, License and video.

Q1)        30th November, 1960, saw the birth of which football pundit: Jimmy Hill, Jimmy Greaves or Gary Lineker?

Q2)        In the modern Gregorian calendar, 30th November is the Feast of Saint Andrew: patron saint of Scotland.   What’s his feast day, in the older Julian Calendar: 13th December, 18th December or the 23rd December?

Q3)        30th November, 1990, saw the birth of Chess player, Magnus Carlsen.   2022 saw him accusing a rival of cheating.   By using a what: sex toy, teapot or mobile phone?

Q4)        30th November is Bonifacio Day.   Where: the Philippines, New Zealand or Fiji?

Q5)        Finally … ?   And according to the UN? 30th November is the Day of Remembrance for all Victims of what: atomic warfare, biological warfare or chemical warfare?

Here’s yesterday’s questions and answers …

Q1)        29th November is Liberation Day in Albania.   It marks the country’s liberation from whom: Falangist Spain, Fascist Italy or Nazi Germany?
A1)        Nazi Germany.

Q2)        The county’s liberation took place in which year of the 1940s?
A2)        1944.

Q3)        29th November is William Tubman Day.   Mr Tubman was the longest serving president of which African nation?
A3)        Liberia.

Q4)        29th November is the feast of Saint Saturnin.   He’s the patron saint of where: Toulon, Toulouse or Tremblay-en-France?
A4)        Toulouse.

Q5)        Finally … ?   29th November, 1958, saw the birth of bassist, Michael Dempsey.   He was an early member of which band: the Sex Pistols, the Stranglers or the Cure?
A5)        The Cure.

Here’s a thought …
“The best way to deal with losing is not to lose.”
Magnus Carlsen, 30th November, 1990.
And a song from Jimmy Bowen …

Rather than a story from Jim Bowen …

Today’s questions will be answered in tomorrow’s Teaser.

Decisions about scores are final.

Thank you for coming: have a good day.

*        Hello, Mum!   (Were you signed in properly, yesterday, Mum?   You showed up as anonymous!)

Hello, I’m Pete, again, Olga!   🤣   At any rate … !   Free medication is always handy!   Free anything can be good, whoever we are!
I’m not TOO sure what Mikey was thinking about, Olga: I’m assuming it was carrots!   Or kale.   (It’s been cold, recently: so Jude’s tried keeping him indoors!   He likes hiding under chairs, so you know.   Mikey, that is!)

        I’m with you there, Debbi!
Totally off the subject?   Kissinger’s died.   That’ll possibly earn my recent Cambodia set a few hits: there was a quote about him, on it.

Sorry, Paul. Yes, the day after the post on my blog goes live, after having to reply to comments and catch up on other blogs I tend to mix up the names. So kale and carrots... I've always loved carrots as well.
I am intrigued about your appointment today. I hope it goes well. Keep us posted!
