Nik Nak’s Daily Teaser — 2nd November, 2023.

2nd November, 2023.

Right … I now have new spectacles.

Or, at least, new computer spectacles: ones I use working at my computer.

Not that you’d notice.

They’re pretty much the same frames as the last ones.

I have an excuse: I was on a budget!

~≈ƒ≈~

Oh … JUST in case … ?

I managed to upload at least two videos, yesterday.

And wanted your opinion of this one:

Does that make ANY sense … ?

~≈ƒ≈~

As a last thought, before we move on … ?

I’ve got Soft Cell’s version of “Say Hello, Wave Goodbye” on in the background.

It’s possibly the band’s best song!

~≈ƒ≈~

Let’s move on, shall we?

Yesterday’s Teaser saw Mum*, Olga† and Debbi‡ putting in their answers: with everyone scoring five out of five.

The day saw Trevor¶ leaving us a message.

Let’s see how everyone does with today’s questions, shall we?

Here they are, along with the How To, License and video.

Q1)        According to the United Nations, 2nd November is the International Day to End Impunity for Crimes against whom: journalists, scientists or medical staff?

Q2)        2nd November, 2007, saw the death of Charmaine Dragun.   Charmaine was a journalist from where: South Africa, Australia or New Zealand?

Q3)        General Magnus Malan was charged with murder: on 2nd November, 1995.   He was the former defence minister of where: South Africa, Australia or New Zealand

Q4)        2nd November, 1868, saw New Zealand adopt what: standard time, a Capital city or constitution?

Q5)        Finally … ?   The Siege of Ladysmith started on 2nd November, 1899.   Where is Ladysmith: Australia, New Zealand or South Africa?

Here’s yesterday’s questions and answers …

Q1)        In a non-leap year, 1st November is the 305th day of the year.   Is 305 a prime number?
A1)        No.

Q2)        Lennox–Gastaut Syndrome Awareness Day is on 1st November.   The condition is a rare form of childhood onset what: dementia, epilepsy or leprosy?
A2)        Epilepsy.

Q3)        1st November is World Vegan Day.   Veganism is a form of what: vegetarianism, abstinence from alcohol or choral singing?
A3)        Vegetarianism: although there’s a lot more to it than that..

Q4)        1st November is National Brush Day, in the USA.   What ARE you supposed to brush: your hair, your teeth or your carpet?
A4)        Your teeth.   (It’s the day after hordes of screaming kids have been eating sweets, after all.)

Q5)        Finally … ?   1st November, 1898, saw the birth of singer, Sippie Wallace.   She was known as the Texas … what?
A5)        The Texas Nightingale.

Here’s a thought …
“Genius is too erratic.   It’s better just to be talented.”
Burt Lancaster, November 2, 1913 – October 20, 1994.
And a song …

Today’s questions will be answered in tomorrow’s Teaser.

Decisions about scores are final.

Thank you for coming: have a good day.

*        Hello, Mum!

It’s certainly an idea, Olga: although I’ve no evidence or studies to back it up!   Saying that … ?   A potential heart attack is another good reason to slow down on salt!

‡        It’s very fitting, Debbi.   Oh, The Tales of The TARDIS?   Are omnibus versions of some of the classics: but with new intros and outros.

§        I’m quietly saying nothing, Trevor … !

Funny that here you have given scores out of ten when there were only five questions.

"Yesterday’s Teaser saw Mum*, Olga† and Debbi‡ putting in their answers: with Olga and Mum scoring ten out of ten, and Debbi on nine."

Thanks for the video. My head is full at the moment with User design, Figma, prototypes, radio business, and other worries, so not in a place to think or comment, but I know where to find it when I have some peace of mind (if ever). I hope the glasses are useful. Thankfully, I didn't need to change mine when I went for a test in September, but I hope I can keep the frames when I have to change the lenses, because these are my favourite glasses ever. (Very light, surgical steel, and no screws. They take a while to get used to, but are much more comfortable.
This is the company making them (and they are from Barcelona, so another good reason to buy local). https://www.looleyewear.com/es/en
And it is true. They don't leave a mark on your nose.
