Nik Nak’s Daily Teaser — 1st December 2023.

1st December, 2023.

Right … it’s officially Friday: and, yes, I’ve had my Trulicity injection.

As far as I can tell … ?

The stuff’s helping my sugar levels: but not — as the Ozempic I was on — helping with the weight.

It seems I’ll have to wait until January to here about that … !

~≈💉≈~

On other fronts … ?

I have to admit to having had a call, yesterday.

Partly as a check-up, partly as a follow up, and partly to confirm a referral.

To the relevant specialist used by my GP: to confirm a potential diagnosis of Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder, or ADHD.

Some of the symptoms on Wikipedia sound relevant: but that’s not why I spoke to my GP about it.

I was actually more worried about being potentially autistic!

At any rate … ?

I’m now in the system: or, at least, on the waiting list, for that referral.

It’s six months at most: we’ll have to see how things go!

Let’s move on, shall we?

Yesterday’s Teaser saw Olga*, Mum† and Debbi‡ putting in their answers: with Olga scoring five out of five, and Debbi and Mum on four.

Let’s see how everyone does with today’s questions, shall we?

Here they are, along with the How To, License and video.

Dick Shawn, December 1, 1923 – April 17, 1987.
And a song …

Today’s questions will be answered in tomorrow’s Teaser.

Decisions about scores are final.

Thank you for coming: have a good day.

*        It’s OK, Olga, I’ll let you off!   :D   As for weird … ?   Magnus accused his opponent of receiving signals through a remote control sex toy.   I know chess grand masters are supposed to be odd, but that’s definitely strange!
Well … there we go, Olga: I’ve been referred for ADHD.   I’m going to be thumb twiddling for a few months: but, whether I am or not?   Finding out, one way or the other, will be useful.

Hello, Mum!   (Did you forget to sign in, again?)

‡        That it was, Debbi!   Oh, I don’t know if these will play in the US: but this, and this, would interest you.   And maybe these.
        Oh, and there’s a package in the metaphorical post … … … …

Yes, the wait will be long, I’m sure. One of the consultants I worked for, in my last job in the UK, worked at an Asperger’s Service as well. They only did the diagnosis, as they had referrals from all over the country (that was in Sheffield), and I did some clinics with him, and most of the referrals were adults who’d never been diagnosed before. In all fairness, it wasn’t a habitual diagnosis, and the same goes for ADHD. And only people at the most extreme of the autistic spectrum got diagnosed years back, but is isn’t always easy. (The patients came with questionnaires already filled in, as there were a lot of questions to be asked, and if their parents were around, they also got questions, because information from the person’s childhood is very important). I hope the wait isn’t too bad.
